Having spent many hours at Koons to lease a Chevy, making it a horrible experience. Salesman that does not listen, Finance manager that lies and paperwork that takes months to complete. Promised a complimentary service agreement, was charged for it, then recanted when caught in the lie. The combination of incompetence, lack of attention to detail and outright dishonesty makes dealing with Koons an exasperating experience, stay away. More

I visited this dealer on Saturday April 18, 2009 to look at a 2009 Cobalt. I asked them for the 'out the door' price of the car and received one in writing. I looked at other cars and decided to buy the Cob at a 2009 Cobalt. I asked them for the 'out the door' price of the car and received one in writing. I looked at other cars and decided to buy the Cobalt. I called them on Wednesday April 22nd and told the sales person that I would be there on Friday April 24th around 6:30 pm to get the car. I arrived there and saw that the car was out front. The sales person was there. Two hours later someone finally showed up to do the paperwork on what was a cash transaction for the dealer, since I didn't finance the car through them. The price on the sales receipt was different from the 'out the door price' I had received from the sales person. Now, that price was only an estimate. The difference was not large but to me a price given in writing is not an estimate. Time will tell if I will tell my friends to buy a Cobalt. But I will not recommend that they go to Koons of Tysons Corner to buy it. More

We have looked at all the GMC dealers in the Fairfax area, seems Leesbu market for a new Arcadia ..... we will NOT be purchasing at Koons of Tysons. Went in to purchase a new Corvette Convertible for my father. The salesman spent no more than 20 minutes with us because he had 2 other deals working at the same time, and there were several salespeople father. Fortunately, we pretty much knew what my father wanted in the car. The only thing was that he wasn't sure if he wanted the silver with charcoal gray top, which was at Koons or if he liked the LeMans Blue with the tan top, which was at a dealership in MD. that we had already received their best price. After doing the ritual back to the manager with the "if I can get my manager to let this go at that price will you buy it today?" After a few rounds of this and 3 1/2 hours passing by because we were interrupting him delivering 2 other cars, we decided to pass on the Koons vette and go get the Lemans Blue one in Maryland. That's when just about everyone in the dealership had the time to sit and talk to us. We explained that the other car had options that theirs did not. The Sales Manager went and got a large 3 ring binder with factory ordering numbers of standard equip.,options,equipment groups,etc. and showed us that they were both equipped the same, the only difference being the colors.That's when the Sales Manager came down drastically on the price and my father could live with having his 2nd choice in color for the large difference in prices.So after arriving at the lot at 12:30 we were ready to go into the Business Managers office at a little after 8:00 p.m. After signing the paperwork and the check we drove the car off the lot. Two days later my father received a phone call from the salesman at the MD dealership to see if he was still interested in his vette.My father explained what had happened and across as upset with the MD salesman, when the salesman told my father that the people at Koons "misled" him because his car did in fact have more options on it then the one he purchased at Koons.Needless to say my father was both embarrassed and irate.When we went in to confront the people at Koons the GSM said that it must have been a simple case of miscommunication.They were not willing to undo the deal.A few days later a Customer Satisfaction Manager contacted my father to offer a few free oil changes for the misunderstanding.We contacted everyone and anyone in the Koons organization, Chevrolet, General Motors, government agencies, etc. just to be turned away at every turn.So what was supposed to be my father getting his dream car to waking to a nightmare having to look at his dream car sitting in his garage. I would rather drive around in a '77 Pinto than get a free car from Koons. More

My sales consultant, J.C., was very patient and knowledgeable. He took the time to undertand all my needs and was very courteous. I bought a used car from them in March of 2008. In the paper work, we did an I Owe You for things that I found wrong and they promised to fix. First, let me point out that this was a very bad judgment call on my part. You should never leave a dealership with a car until all problems are fixed. With that said, I took the car home and called to make an appointment to drop off the car for service. They perform the $15 service with no problem. The other two services were in the $300 range and instead of fixing them; they came up with all sorts of clever ways to tell me why they were not going to fix them. The first one was it passed the inspection; therefore, we do not need to fix it. Mind you, I have checked with three other mechanics and they all said it was necessary to fix. In fact, I told them that I was not going to fix the problem with their shop and that I just needed another opinion. Darren Wilson is a very nice person and at times, he seemed to care about my problems, but did not do enough to get my problems resolved. Carlos Lames is the used car sales manager and he never returned any of my calls, and should never be trusted. Andy Lane was the person who promised me that the work would get done and that I had nothing to worry about. He is a liar and then some. He now has temporary amnesia, how convenient. Andy Lane is another person that you should never trust; in fact, I do not recommend this dealership to anyone, not even my worst enemy. More

I had a problem where my 2006 GMC sierra gave a "check oil level" warning after having just picked the truck up from an oil change. After I found that there was very little oil on the dipstick I promptly oil level" warning after having just picked the truck up from an oil change. After I found that there was very little oil on the dipstick I promptly called the service departmen back and explained. I talked to Jim Cox who very Quickly put me through to the Shop foreman Jack White. I was asked to put some oil in it to bring it up to level and bring it back to service to check for leaks. I had to add a quart of oil to bring it back into the safe zone. When I pulled into the service bay, I was very surprised to see that all of the service advisors and the forman were there waiting for me. They all showed concern for what had just happened. They pulled the truck into the service bay. No leaks were found. It seems that the pump used to put oil into the vehicles had malfuntioned and no one double checked the level. They had to add almost another quart to fill up the truck. As a way to ease the pain of driving back out there, Jack put 10 gallons of gas back in the truck. I was VERY PLEASED when I found this out. I feel it was a very good way to re-imburse the customer. I was very pleased with how the crisis was handled. I only hope that the machine that was used to fill up my truck with oil the first time is checked and repaired and that the mechanic starts checking the oil level before sending the vehicle out the door. I was pleased with the quick response and concern that Jim Cox, David Palumbo, and Jack White all showed. I am writing this because all too often, when people write a review or comment about a service organization, it is the bad things that get written about. I wanted to write to tell about a crisis that was handled VERY WELL. More

Undelivery of services requests 2. Repeat visits required to fix a problem 3. Systematic overcharges and not honoring coupons at billing 4. Indifference to customer time and inconvience. If GM corporate cares about customer dissatisfaction, it need not hire a high priced consultant to find the ideal model of a panoramically failed operation. This is about as good as it gets. If Mr/Mrs. Koons has any shame (or at a minimum, cares about brand value), then they should take this operation to intensive care. It is nearly flatlined. Stay away. MR More
