A couple weeks ago, received a bill from Sirus Satellite to extend a 3 month trial period on an account in my name. Because I recently purchased a new vehicle in Nashville, TN. with a year complimentary su to extend a 3 month trial period on an account in my name. Because I recently purchased a new vehicle in Nashville, TN. with a year complimentary subscription, we made a call to Sirus to find out what was going on. We found out that the subscription was taken out on a vehicle that was NOT my new vehicle. Never previously, have I had Sirus Satellite acct. Through cooperation with the dealership that I had purchased my new vehicle, it was finally concluded that the new Sirus subscription was taken out on a vehicle that I traded in when I purchased the new vehicle. Through chronological order, we found that the vehicle I traded in had gone through a wholesaler, then on to Landers Toyota lot and then transferred to their Chrysler lot. I'm very curious how anyone got my information. When I spoke to them, they continually insisted they had no way of knowing or finding out who had previously owned the vehicle. Yet, in another breath they would tell me that the information could be found by looking up the registration. It was then we found out that 20 days before the vehicle left their lot on December 28th, on December 8th someone contacted Sirus and opened the account using my name, address, phone number and email address. Thus, it was in the possession and under ownership of the dealership that this happened. Naturally, I was greatly concerned that someone was using my identity to open this account, and further concern about what other information was out there that damage could be done to my credit. To date, no damage to my credit has been done that I'm aware of, though I realize there is still potential damage in the future. The one thing I'm grateful for, in this instance, is that Sirus does not require SS# or credit information to open an account, leading me to hope that the identity theif doesn't have that info. However, I called and talked to a sales manager there, named Gabe, over a week ago to see what they could find out. This was on Friday and he promised to call be back on the following Monday. Well, that was one week ago today and I've heard nothing. They seemed to have no real concerns about it, but I'm not sure how seriously they are about this being a crime of identity theft. Because of their appearance of indifference, makes me the more determined to file charges against the dealership. I'm not sure how it would work out, but someone needs to take some responsibility. For the above mentioned experience, I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. They impress upon me that they have no real people skills. Also, as I look at the reviews and the rating of this dealership, I recognize there are others that have had dealings with them who suggest you do not use them either. If there is a way, and someone would wish to contact me personally to discuss this issue, I'd be glad to discuss it. I will check back to this site to see if requests are made. Thanks More
Damged my vehicle during a routine service. They would not take responsibility. The dealership is not clean. The service technicians look unprofessional. Overall - not a good experience.
