My Review of Lee Volvo:
I have almost always enjoyed going here. The people are polite and helpful, and they seem to be trying to find ways to get work covered by the warranty if possible. Maybe they get some help from Volvo on that count. Either way, for the most part if there's a problem that seems like a defect that should have been covered by warranty, they've seemed good.
My last visit - not so much. Yes, the car is definitely out of warranty, so they weren't going to be able to cover something that IMO shouldn't have failed. But I just didn't get as good a feeling about the experience. Yes, sure, the staggering bill was part of it. One note, I think if they're going to replace a several hundred dollar part, they should ask if you want the old part. I know most people would say no, but it's the thing to do.
But - I still happily drive past Boston Volvo Village (bad attitude, bad price) to get to Lee, and I'm glad that Lee is around. I wish Lee was closer to Boston!
Still, I don't know if my next car will be a Volvo. It's been expensive to maintain, there isn't a good dealer shop near Boston, and the 4WD models I'd be interested in haven't been reliable. (My friends' V70 XC has been a disaster for them, in terms of repair cost, they were happy to trade that in for just several thousand dollars to get rid of it.)
This is a good place for service, one of the best I've been to. My recommendation would be a little qualified based on my last visit, but I would still recommend it.
