My Review of Leith BMW:
The sales process is smooth and overall a good experience. However, the good service stopped when I drove the vehicle off the lot. I have had issues with the service department for simple satellite radio installation and protective window treatment. They have given me wrong dates, kept my car for days, no check in or calls to let me know the progress and finally, I have not been offered a loaner car.

My Review of Leith BMW:
matt, one of the service managers, has been extremely helpful and ensured my car was repaired properly and promptly. he gets it washed and vacuumed whenever i have it in for service and always asks if i want a loaner. he also makes sure that my 15% bmw cca discount is applied to the bill, before i even show up.

the only drawback is that their rates are very high, but the techs are extrememly knowledgeable and the problems do get fixed correctly. the high rates are why i rated the overall experience a little lower.

i've taken 3 bmws to them and have been pleased with the service. I've even called these guys from the road in NY to ask a question about something odd my car was doing and they gave me advice and reassurance that the problem was minor.

fwiw, i bought my newest bmw from this dealer and they were fine on that aspect as well. we were able to negotiate what i thought was a competitive price and i was able to get them to throw in a few goodies as well to make it worth my while not going down the road 25 miles to another local dealer.

My Review of Leith BMW:
Took the car in for Oil service (as part of service they check the brake pads/rotors/sensors) and Emission light came on. When I drove out of the parking lot, at their closing time, immediately the Brake Light came on on the instrument panel. They had closed so I had to take it back on a later day. BMW NA Corp Customer Service said that the problem was probably that the sensor came loose. When I took the car back in Leith BMW service said that the rear brakes (pads/rotors/sensors) all needed to be replaced, even though the VERY DAY they supposedly went out, they check off my work list that the brakes were passed. COINCIDENCE??? Isn't it physically impossible for the brakes to wear down within a few hundred yards of the dealership and then trigger the sensor? You decide. Smells fishy.

One of my worst dealer service experiences in my life. Too bad they are the closest, but I will drive further to try out someone new next time.
My Review of Leith BMW:
We purchased our vehicle there in 1988 and have taken it for service there religiously. When the car cut off, it was towed. A hose was replaced., the cost $168!!!. The tow was free with AAA. $34 for hose, $80 diagnostic, $40 labor, $12 shop fee. I called an voiced my concerns and
was informed that they have a minimum of $80 no matter what the repair, one spark plug or anything because the vehicle must be put on the computer.
They just lost a new vehicle sale to replace this vehicle. I voiced my concern about this excessive charge, but they would not budge.
i will avoid this property in the future and have advised my friends as well.

My Review of Leith BMW:
After a bad experience at Leith in 1983 (yeah, I've got a long memory :-) ), I was reluctant to do business with them; however, the guys at Leith BMW service have been fantastic to deal with. The service advisor, Mick, has been wonderful to deal with in during my search for a 2001 M5, helping me out with service history reports, etc. After getting the car, they serviced a few things perfectly, pointed out some information I didn't know about the car, and checked it over completely. I was very pleased with the knowledge and professionalism of Mick, Ken (shop foreman) and the tech who was working on the car (sorry I don't remember his name, but I will find out). I'm happy that I have a comfortable home for service at Leith now as I'm also going to be taking my 2002 540i there for service also. Highly recommended.

My Review of Leith BMW:
I bought my wife's 330Cic from Sean in sales. Before the sale, we walked in off the street in her old Mitsubishi Eclipse and not dressed particularly nice. Shorts, t-shirt, sneakers. Sean treated us like the most important customer there. Let us test drive anything we wanted, gave us all the possible information we could possibly ask for, and was very nice and down to earth. We ended up ordering a brand new car from the factory and he kept us up to date on it all the time, then called us as soon as it came in. When it was time to pay, my CCA membership had only been in effect for just less than 1 year (the required timeframe to obtain your $500 refund). Rather than making me wait another 3-4 weeks until that took effect, he and his sales manager actually discounted the car another $500!! Unbelievable, but true. That really got kudos in my book. They already knew we were buying the car, and could have sold it for sticker price to anyone off the street (this was early summer after all) but still decided to keep us happy and go above and beyond.

Service on my 2001 M5, which I bought just last month from Gallery BMW in Norwood, MA, was also great. They covered everything that was wrong and even called Gallery to get them to agree to foot the bill for a few things that SHOULD have been caught during the CPO inspection but weren't. The service manager, Kelly, was the one who offered to do this and I believe that was very good customer service. Everyone is very friendly, and if you schedule in advance they'll give you a loaner car.
My Review of Leith BMW:
Went to test drive an '04 330i with the performance package. The man I spoke with (sorry but cannot remember his name) was friendly but not ridiculous about it. He was very knowlegable about BMW and performance cars in general. He even had a useful knowledge about aftermarket tuners and amateur competition. Did not get into a bunch of hackneyed sales tactic - he read his prospect and understood that an enthusiast responds to the product not the hype. Very rare experience indeed.
