My Review of Major Hyundai:
The worst buying experience I've ever had. They gave me a poor price on the trade in. They charged me full sticker price. I thought the price was higher as I looked at several cars.

They high pressure you with $500 for teflon wax and other useless garbage.

They make you sign lots of papers. One said the car had 6 miles on it. After I paid and got into the car, the odometer had 90 miles on it. Maybe they used it as a demo and charged me for a new car.

I asked for no advertising on the car and when I got it, it was palstered with ads and they drilled holes in gthe front bumper to put their ugly Major Hyundai ad plate.

Complaints to no avail.

They state you have to change the oil every 3000 miles while a call to Hyindai America says it's for only extreme conditions. Sure they want you back so they can make more money. They insist a Hyundai filter be used. I bought an 08 Sonata and the manual they gave me was an 07.

I has 15,000 miles on the car and the inner rear brake pads wore out due to corrosion in the sliders on the calipers. They said the warranty does not cover it as it was due to corrosion. what am I supposed to do, drive only in dry weather. Cost was over $300.

I'll buy some Hyundai filters and get the oil changed somewhere else.

They want $500 for 30,000 mile service. This is not a Mercedes.

I would never go back there.

My Review of Major Hyundai:
I just bought a Hyunda used and had a warranty issue. I took the car to Major Hyundai for a warranty. I brought the car to them on a monday, they stated it would be done by that Friday as they had all the parts. When I stopped that Friday work had not even been started and was told to come back the following Thursday. I called them that thursday and was told it would not be done till later the following week.
Now it was two an a half weeks later on a Friday I stopped to pick up my car after calling and being told it was ready. When I picked it up a young mechanic told me something was broke on my car and asked if anyone showed me the piece. No one did.
I was directed to another desk where I scheduled an appointment for a inspection which was scheduled for five days later on a wensday and signed for the warranty work done.

When I brought the car back I used it for the weekend. I noticed now my tachometer did not work and there was other noises. I put the car up on jack stands and saw missing bolts on the splashguards. Just this week I found other critical safety issues I was never told about from the dealer.

When I called the dealer, they were defensive, and stated they did not even need to do the warranty work. They also stated there was a lot more wrong with my car and could not explain why somone did not tell me.

The missing bolts were not missing when I brought it in. I checked photos I took under the car when I found out about the sub frame warranty issue.

I will not trust this dealer, and would caution everyone to be careful when dealing with their service department.

I am most likely going to take this car to another dealer to have the work MAJOR Hyundai did checked.

My Review of Major Hyundai:
Ok, so they didn't give me a price at first, that's fine. So the sales man wanted me to drive the car before we worked the numbers, fine. All I wanted was a test drive, because if I did not like the car I wasn't going to buy it any way. It's funny most places I went, all the people talked about was price, this was the only dealership out of the 3 I went to that offered for me to drive the car BEFORE I worked the numbers. I can't beleive that other places wanted me to buy it, then drive it.

It only took me 10 minutes to get where I "was happy". I did my research before I got there and it was simple. I have gone other places to shop, this is a small, family owned dealership that wants you to be happy first. I got a little off the car and got what I wanted for my trade, which they gave me more than I expected because they said it was good on gas and it's worth more than average. I would tell people do your research online and go in a buy a car. It's only as hard as you make it.

When I go in for service I see the owner and his family. If I have a problem I see them. They are helpful and friendly and I enjoy buying cars there.

My Review of Major Hyundai:
After we previously bought 2 hyundai's from Jeff we went to him again the end of 2002. We were interested in buying a sonata and a elantra Gt. We could not get prices for either cars. We tried again in 2004 when we wanted to buy an accent. We ended up buying the 3 cars from Lehigh Valley even tho Major was alot closer to where we lived. Not only did Major lose those sales but we have bought 4 more vehicles from Vinart dealership.

Employee(s) Dealt With: Jeff and Rich

My Review of Major Hyundai:
I wanted a hyundai and I was hoping to stay close to home so major was our first choice. First thing I did was check their website, where NONE of the cars have prices. Then I emailed and got a curt and rather rude reply from rich in all caps telling me to call him. About a week later we went to the dealership deciding to test drive a couple of cars we saw on the website. That's when we met Jeff, he was the usual overly fake friendly car salesman, that didn't bother me. He took us for a test drive and I asked him the price. Well he wanted to know what payments I was looking for. I said Im asking you the price of the car. He ignored the question completely. Then he proceeded to bad mouth other area car lots and made it clear to us that if we didn't purchase our car from him and ended up needing their service department for a warranty covered hyundai from elsewhere that we would wait a long time because his customers come first. We left after the test drive and didn't go back. We bought elsewhere.
I think if you ask a direct question about price it should be answered, especially when someone comes in knowing what they are interested in and being very specific in their inquiries. I wouldn't go back, I wouldn't recommend them.

While it is unfortunate that this customer had a less than positive experience with our dealership, to me it sounds as if Jeff (our senior salesperson who has at least 2,500 satisfied customers) followed the basic steps that a salesperson is taught on day one... find out what vehicle is going to make the customer happiest to own. We have found that the majority of our customers place more importance on the value they are receiving, as well as their monthly investments. More often than not a customer hears a sticker price and stops the transaction before realizing that it is something they would be able to own based on the specifics of finance. I can assure anyone reading this that it is not our practice to 'deny servicing' as this customer put it, but we do place our own customers as preferred over those who opt to purchase from dealers elsewhere, which has been the practice of the car business for years. As far as badmouthing other dealerships, the list showing other area dealerships' ratings and their lack of effort to reply speak for themselves.
