My Review Of McCloskey Truck Town:
We purchased a 2006 VW Jetta TDI on October 31,2012. We included the high tech warranty in our purchase in hopes of protecting ourselves should anything go wrong. Did things ever go wrong! On December 28, 2012, we took our car to the service department because it was making some bad noises. We left the car, giving the service manager a detailed explanation of what was going on. We explained to him that we needed the rental our warranty covered. We were told that since it was Friday, and that Monday was a holiday, he would have someone look at it on Tuesday. Then maybe we could get our rental by Wednesday. By the following Friday, when I had not heard a word from anyone, I went into the dealership. I was told that the motor mount had broken, and that the motor needed to be replaced. A quick call to the warranty company served to inform me that they were not going to cover any of it. So here I sit, with a car I have only made one payment on, I owe $16,000 on it, and am being quoted around $10,000 to fix it. I came home and within about 30 minutes, found something called a Vangogh clamp on a vw forum site. I emailed it to the service dept., and received an email back saying it was a great find, and that this might be just what we need to "fix"it.
Fast forward 1 month: The car is still sitting there, we have received two return phone calls out of at least 10, and we will probably end up having to file bankruptcy over this. When my husband went down to the lot to talk to someone(because they apparently can't return a phone call) He was offered a business card to go get a loan to cover the almost $3,000 quote we were given. The "fix" is unacceptable. It is a band aid on a gun shot wound. I have never seen anything like this in my life. I understand that this is a business, but apparently integrity is not a big part of it.
