Terrible Service Experience I bought a 2012 Ford Explorer from this dealership. It was a hassle to bring it back there for service. The service always seemed to take so long, e I bought a 2012 Ford Explorer from this dealership. It was a hassle to bring it back there for service. The service always seemed to take so long, even for simple things. It wasn't local so I ended up waiting most times. I would lose 1/2 a day just to get my oil changed. So I tried to avoid it when possible, but for warranty work I felt like I had no other option but to go back there. I brought in my truck, telling them the suspension on the passenger side was leaking. It looked like it was coming from the strut and seemed to be hydraulic fluid. I asked when I made the appointment if they could fix it if I brought it in. I was told "no problem". I brought it in at 8:30 and asked them to also look at the belt, because it squeals in the rain. I waited for 2 1/2 hours, as the waiting room slowly cleared out of everyone else that was waiting until I was the only person left. I finally went down to ask how it was going. They looked surprised. They hadn't even taken it into the shop yet. They didn't realize I was waiting. They hadn't bothered to ask, or notice that I walked up to their waiting room. I was upset and took a walk to let off some steam. 90 minutes later I got a call that they were just finishing up. So I walked back and asked if it was all set. They told me it was. They were going to order some parts and they would call me when the parts came in. I was confused. So you didn't fix the problem? "Nope. It was a leaking strut. We don't carry those in stock." Really??? What a sick joke. Why bother telling me you can fix my suspension problem when you don't carry suspension parts? How about the belt? The technician happened to be walking through, so they asked him. "The belt looks fine. Perfect condition. No sign of wear or damage". OK... Then why is it squealing in the rain? "Well, we can order you a new belt, not under warranty and install it when you come back in. All on your dime of course" No. You just told me the belt was fine. I asked why it was squealing. Replacing a perfect belt with a new belt may not solve the issue if it is with the tensioner or some other area. I will have thrown money at the problem for nothing. So I basically wasted 4 hours of my life for them to tell me the strut is leaking, which I told them when I brought it in. I waited weeks for the part to come in. They never called. I finally called them and they had trouble even tracking down the part because someone put it on the wrong shelf. Thus I would never have gotten a call. I went back finally to have it fixed. My extended warranty covered a car rental. So I ended up getting one while they worked on replacing my strut. They kept my car for nearly two full days. To do this one thing. They still couldn't tell me why my belt is squealing in the rain. I wrote to the manager to complain. He wrote back, essentially telling me "I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. We work very hard to make every customer happy. Have a nice day" Now I have sold the car and I am supposed to be able to get the money back on my extended warranty. Pro-rated for the portion I did not use. I have called three times, left messages and can't get a call back. I went there in person, with my paperwork. They copied it, put it in a file with my contact information and said the person who handles this (the same person I have been calling) would get back to me. That was weeks ago and I still haven't gotten a call. Dealing with this dealership is like pulling teeth. Needlessly painful. I have owned Fords since 1997, but when I got rid of my 2012 I bought a RAM truck. I hope I never have to step inside another Ford dealership in my life. More
