Prospective McKevitt Fiat or Volvo Buyers: Steer Clear! Rude, demeaning sales rep, poorly run Dealership...If you do Don't Get Kristean...

Long story short, today's escapade at McKevitt was nothing short of a disaster. It all started when the Sales manager, Kristean yelled at me, for no reason at all, claiming I made up my annual income and was out to scam the dealership. Kristean continued to yell at me and ordered me to leave their lot. He then went as far as saying he would call the police if I didn't leave...

I was completely taken back by Kristean; especially since this was supposed to be the most exciting purchase of my life (buying a car that I had saved years to pay with cash...) His claims were neurotic and completely untrue. He ordered to see proof of funds; which I showed and he still didn't believe me.

At the end of the whole exchange, I would go as far as say, I felt verbally abused and was completely demeaned. I hope the Owner of McKevitt sees this and follows up with me because at this point an apology is in order. For those of you looking for quality cars I would go to Fletcher Johnson or the Fremont Auto Mall, it will save you the time and their customer service ultimately earned my business.

The best part was I called Kristean; back to share my frustrations and he wouldn't even apologize. The General Manager David Adragna, did apologize but still doesn't change what will go down as the worst experience at a car dealership.

The price of coolant change is over payed compare with another dealer $200 vs. $98 (Smythe Volvo).

This McKevitt is dishonest. This service is my first business with McKevitt as well as last one.

Kristean, was very helpful and more than accommodating.
When I sent out the email on internet for price quotes he responded immediately, followed up with specific needs and information. Left a message on the phone to assure me that he was there to answer any questions and provide information
whether I was willing to buy or not.
We made an appointment. My wife is very hesitant when dealing with salespeople.
We arrived he made us both feel comfortable, explained the car's features and showed us all his inventory and options. He explained he had one more color at the Berkeley
store and drove us to the Berkeley store to see the color first hand.
My wife liked it. We drove it back to San leandro wrote up the paperwork.
He explained all the options, was very friendly and bent over backwards to make it a pleasurable experience.
We felt valued and appreciated by Kristean
We don't buy a new car every year, and that large of an expenditure is serious business.
Kristean and his Dealership made it a pleasurable experience.
I highly recommend Kristean and McKevitt Volvo Dealership.

From the moment I walked in the door, Kristean gave me his complete attention and helped me find the perfect vehicle. I was already leaning toward the C30, and I test drove it that day. They didn't have the color/options I wanted, but Kristean checked and found one that was being shipped. Within a week, I had the perfect car.

With Kristean, there was absolutely no pressure for the sale. I got the sense that he genuinely just wanted to see me in the right car, and wanted me to be happy. He was very straight-forward and honest throughout the process, which made it a breeze. I would absolutely recommend McKevitt, and would definitely recommend working with Kristean (the sales manager).

Dealership: Great, clean and easy to get to
Dealer: Kristean von der Heiden was awesome, he was quick to respond and up front and honest. He never was too pushy and made the experience easy.
Car: XC90, great car that has extras that we didnt really want but have turned out to be really helpful (thank you BLIS System)

I should mention that we drove past two dealerships (Lawerence Volvo in Walnut Creek that is two minutes from our house) to do business here. Part of it was price and what they had, but now that we have been there, I would go to McKevitt again and recomend anyone looking to go there.

My Volvo wagon blew the timing belt on the freeway. I was towed into San Leandro Volvo expecting to have the car repaired. I began looking at used cars with Steve Louie and found something interesting. However, I have a bankruptcy on my credit and could not get a loan for a more expensive car. However, Steve worked with myself and the lender from 11:00am until 7:30pm to push through the approval process to get me into a better car. Steve drove me around getting legal documents together to present to the lender for a loan approval. My insurance carrier was not available to change over the insurance to a new car so Steve got on the phone at 7:00pm to a Farmers agent who setup me up with insurance.

At 7:30pm after a long day of dealing with lenders, driving cars, collecting documents and getting insurance, I drove away in a very nice 2000 Ford Taurus with only 54,000 miles. I had a car loan to start restoring my credit rating and a very nice car.

I have owned 3 Volvos in the past and have been a McKevitt customer for 15 yrs. What a great dealership.

Called in for a broken backseat seatbelt that needed to be fixed ASAP. They answered the phone promptly, understood the issue RIGHT AWAY just from my description, and said bring it on in--without an appointment. Drove from across the Bay (approx 15 miles), and was greeted courteously and promptly upon arrival. I gave them the keys and they asked directed me to the very nice and comfortable waiting area. In less than 30 minutes, the repair was complete! He also gave us tips on how to avoide the same problem in the future...so helpful! Upon checkout, the price was exceptionally fair (I thought in might be in hundreds of dollars; it was less than $25!!!!) I would definitly go back to McKevitt to buy our next vehicle and will travel the extra miles -- and pay a toll -- to work with them again. If all dealerships operated this way, the "local mechanic" would be out of business.

It was great to work with Kristean - he made everything go smoothly and quickly. Sherman provided great service and showed us how things worked on the new vehicle and called us the next day to see how everything was going. Great people to work with.

I had an amazing experience with Kristean and the other sales personnel working at McKevitt Volvo. I have been the owner of a 1988 Saab for almost 8 years and after traveling around the US in it twice it began to literally fall apart. I started my car search on the internet with reluctance. I have never bought a car from a dealer but have gone with my friends to buy cars from dealers and the experiences were very fake and all about wheeling and dealing. I found a Suburu dealer in Oakland that had a nice car for a nice price. I called and I knew immediately that I did not call the right place. I called and inquired about the vehicle on their website. He kept me on hold for 10 minutes. Finally, someone else picked up and when I asked him about the car he said in the rudest tone that they don't have that car there and then hung up. I decided to go with McKevitt Volvo because I have a friend who bought his car through them and raved about the place. However, after the phone conversation I just had with Suburu in Oakland I decided to inquire through e-mail. I received a prompt e-mail back and phone call from Kristean within five minutes of my inquiry. We made an appointment for the next morning at 10am and he was there waiting for me at exactly 10am just as planned. Kristean was very professional, attentive, and was very patient with my non-stop questions. Kristean was also very knowledgeable regarding the maintenance and reliability of the car. We even conducted my test drive despite the rainy Wednesday morning. We came back and immediately began filling out paperwork and I went home with the car. Kristean was so friendly and was very professional. I was not hassled or forced into buying anything I didn't want like an extended warranty. Now I am the proud new owner of a 97 Jaguar -(mint condition I might add). Thanks Kristean and everyone else at McKevitt for the platinum service!

My experience with McKevitt Volvo was very painless, honest, punctual, and professional. My wife and I called and looked into several Volvo and non-Volvo dealerships and found McKevitt Volvo the most responsive and also showed excellent Customer Service. Steve made a lot of effort in crunching the numbers and gave me the best deal he can offer. The closest quote I got with a very similar car was 2K dollars more.

I am intending to have my new car serviced and purchase parts and accessories at McKevitt Volvo.
