I recently purchased a Toyota Gold Certified 4Runner from Minot Automotive, and unfortunately my experience after the sale has been disappointing. At the time of delivery, the vehicle was missing a trim piece near the radio, which was clearly visible even in the original dealer listing photos. I reported this immediately and followed up multiple times over several weeks with the salesperson, finance manager, and used car manager. Despite this being a condition that existed at the time of sale, I was ultimately told that nothing would be done, no repair and no compensation. The explanation given was that certification focuses primarily on mechanical quality, not interior completeness. While I understand used vehicles may have minor wear, I would expect a Toyota Gold Certified vehicle to be delivered complete and not missing interior components. Given that these vehicles are represented as having undergone a 160 point inspection, I was surprised that a missing interior trim piece was not identified or addressed prior to sale. This experience raised concerns for me about both the inspection process and post sale support. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend that buyers carefully inspect all interior and exterior details and ensure any issues are addressed before taking delivery, even on Gold Certified vehicles. The buying process itself was straightforward, but the lack of follow through afterward was frustrating and disappointing. More
