I took my 2010 Jeep JK to Ourisman Jeep Bethesda with a #3 misfire (P0303). The misfire was every stoke so I figured is was either the spark, wire, or coil. It was over 100 degrees and I didn't want to work on it in the hot sun so I took it to Ourisman Jeep in Bethesda. They had recently replaced the #3 the spark plug so I figured they didn't seat the boot properly and would just put it back on for no charge. Instead a day later they came back with an estimate for $6.5k to replace the cylinder head, stating the head gasket blew and contaminated the cylinder head and both needed to be replaced. Through a friend I spoke to a mechanic at a competing dealer who looked at the diagnostic video and listened to what it was doing. According to him the head gasket rarely blows at the end of the engine, usually it is a middle cylinder, also secondaries would be present like smoke out of the exhaust or oil in the coolant, of which there was none. He looked at it and determined the compression was within tolerance and the only issue was the spark plug wire was damaged. He replace the wire and the engine is running 4.0. I've had other issues with Ourisman Jeep Bethesda in the past. They quoted me $800 to fix the parking break in my 2018 JLU, fixed that myself with a pair of plyers. They quoted me $600 to fix an electric steering issue that was actually an auxiliary battery problem (thank you forum), I told them this but insisted it was a component in the steering wheel. I took it home and replaced the aux battery, fixed the problem. I'll never go back to this shop and warn you not to go either, it is a true stealership. More

I purchased a vehicle and, within the first two months, experienced stress cracks in the fenders that required replacement. Instead of addressing the issue properly, Daniel A. and Jon P. from the service center sent my brand-new truck to a third party that didn’t even color match the repairs. My concerns were consistently ignored, and I felt sidelined. I reached out to Chrysler and Jeep Wave for assistance, but it took weeks of calls to get any response from the dealership or their service center. Imagine spending so much on a truck only to face a simple warranty issue and receiving this kind of treatment. I have all the text messages that reflect the disrespect I encountered. It’s alarming how much the tone changed when a male representative contacted them; their responsiveness seemed to improve dramatically. But the worst part was the finance team’s handling of my contract. After spending an entire evening at the dealership finalizing my purchase, just before leaving for a trip, I was shocked when the finance representative asked me for more money. I had already reviewed the contract multiple times and paid everything due. To then be told to pay more felt like a breach of trust. This finance person ultimately forged my signature, removed the added options, and canceled my subscriptions as retaliation. I later learned that he was fired for similar issues with other clients. Recently, I contacted them regarding a paint issue, expecting my Smart Shield coverage to apply. Instead, I discovered the extent of the mess they had created and was told I was responsible for fixing it. When I visited the dealership to present my contract, they claimed they had no record of it. Larry Payne insisted on upholding a clearly forged signature, all while I was out of the country. He asked me to “make it make sense,” which only added to the disrespect I faced. Would I ever buy another Jeep or do business with Oursiman Jeep of Bethesda? Absolutely not! I am only writing this after multiple weeks of trying to get in touch with someone at the dealership to cancel my warranty. Unable to get anyone in financing or management on the phone. I even tried to contact the GM on LinkedIn. After years of hard work I came to this dealership to finally purchase the car I have wanted since I was 12. A new vehicle purchase should be a straightforward process, with few surprises or negotiation issues. Unfortunately, the choose to operate with 0 integrity every step of the way. They refused outright to negotiate on financing. I assume this is because they knew there was extremely limited nationwide inventory for the Wrangler I wanted. They also conveniently chose a lender which has no branches in the state of Maryland. For the extended warranty, I asked for details on exactly what was covered and in what situations the warranty would apply. They lied to my face on multiple counts. This is not a case of them using ambiguous language - they explicitly gave me false information to get the warranty sale. In addition to lying about the extended warranty, they failed on multiple accounts to honor the standard warranty that comes with any new vehicle and covers 100% of both the powertrain and any manufacturer caused defects. Went in for my first oil change at 3k miles and the service department tried to bill me, even though I have Jeep Wave (first 3 oil changes are free). Were they hoping I would just forget. I also asked them to check a rattling sound that was coming from the vehicle. Without asking any follow up questions they said that would not be covered by the warranty. They quoted me $400 in labor and assumed I was at fault before even accessing the vehicle. This is a brand new 2021 vehicle with 3k miles on it and they are not interested in taking responsibility for a potential mechanical issue. Its been driven around the city for a few months and had 0 accidents. How or why would I have caused a mechanical issue? Most of this would have been entirely forgiven if they had just let me cancel the warranty. All this dealer had to do was show a minimal level or respect and integrity to earn a longtime customer. I love Jeeps, after a year I would have traded up to a hybrid and then some. They decided to book the small, short term profit instead. More
