My Review of Porter Nissan:
The first problem I ran into was that the back tires were bald and dry rotted, so I went to the service department at Porter the week after I purchased the vehicle and had a mechanic take a look and he stated that the tires were in very bad shape and that it could be dangerous and he was surprised that they were not replaced since the two front tires were replaced, since at the time I had a one month old baby this alarmed me. Then the service manager got involved and not only did he get confrontational with me he stated that I had to buy the tires myself and that the tires were in good shape. So I then went to the owner and expressed my disappointment and he apologized about the manager’s attitude and stated he would take care of this for me. Porter then ordered the tires and when I went back to have them installed they handed me a bill for one tire and told me they would split it, they wanted to purchase one tire and I would purchase the second, I refused to pay after getting more attitude from the service department they told me to leave and they would pay for the tires like they original stated.
Now after seeing that this dealership definitely has some problems with being honest with the customer I purchased a car fax report and was surprised by the findings, instead of the vehicle being returned from a lease to Porter Nissan I found out Porter purchased the car from a car auction in NJ.
I then called the owner of Porter Nissan and he told me the salesman must have made a mistake but not to worry because the car was still covered by the manufactures warranty and if I had any problems they would take of it for me.
Unfortunately they have a very short memory at Porter Nissan because I then had to bring the Pathfinder in for numerous service issues that should be covered under warranty.(roof leaked, water on floor and ceiling, back brakes squeak, back hatch door makes loud noise when opening and closing, transmission shifts very hard in low gears, front power windows very slow, front louvers are coming off, vehicle smells damp because of water leak, ceiling stained from water leak) That’s when the real trouble started and after the car sitting at the dealership all day they called me and told me that the warranty had expired and this alarmed me so I asked for an explanation on how this happened. I was then told even though I purchased the car with 25000 miles on it the warranty is only good for three years or 35000 miles and the warranty expired four weeks prior to me purchasing the vehicle. I then inquired as to why the salesman stated that this particular truck had a warranty and talked me into purchasing this vehicle when there was no warranty and the sticker on the truck stated that there was still time left on the original warranty. I was then told by Porter Nissan that the salesman made an honest mistake and after much aggravation I was told they would cover the warranty this time but it has expired and if I have a problem with that I should contact a lawyer. Well they supposedly fixed the issues but unfortunately all the problems are still there and they did not fix anything.
I also am concerned that the odometer may have been tampered with due to the fact that all the original tires had to be replaced at 24000 miles and as you can see the dealership is not the most honest one and can not be trusted. I am in the process of having the odometer and truck investigated for odometer fraud.
