This the best dealership service department I’ve ever worked with. They are all polite, friendly and helpful. I needed 'check engine light' diagnosis and fix in order to smog my car. You did not diagnose the problem,,, but rather gave me a $6500 estimate to change out my wire harness and pull out my engine to repla to smog my car. You did not diagnose the problem,,, but rather gave me a $6500 estimate to change out my wire harness and pull out my engine to replace a leaking head-gasket!!! And weren't even sure if that would solve the 'check engine light' issue. Really? Do you actually think anyone would go for this? I finally found a mechanic who was willing to chase down the problem, and a month later my car is successfully smogged - and I didn't have to spend $6500. I consider going to you guys like being 'thrown to the wolves'. You are scary. More
People at the dealership are great. My service writer the last 2-3 times was the same person, Anthony Ortega, and he was professional and timely with updates. Great attitude as well. It's been over a month and I wanted to reply almost immediately, but the time allowed me to cool down and truly assess the issues. This was a $500 device that did NOT meet any expectations. My car i immediately, but the time allowed me to cool down and truly assess the issues. This was a $500 device that did NOT meet any expectations. My car is still under full warranty and that is the main reason I take it to the Subaru dealership for all services. Also, I really enjoy the customer service there. But this time was different. First of all, the service for 70k was $175 and it was supposed to include all the usuals. That said, they seem to have used the cheapest fluids to replace my car, my windshield fluid froze every time. For perspective, the jiffy lube in town will add all the fluids (High quality) and tire rotation for about $100 and they use the appropriate grade for the place I live. I live in Tahoe and yes, it freezes here. On top of that, Brandon did NOT have my car washed at the end and overall, the experience made me feel like you treated me and my car like a piece of trash. I told Brandon at the begging that I had been having issues with the battery and that it had been replaced in the past 2 years and at least three times before that. He charged me for the battery test (I consider that to be Subaru’s cost because they are dealing with the warranties, etc, and should not have been charged to me, as it is a relatively new battery and my car is still under warranty. Also, Brandon runner it as a 7year old battery, not 2). I was charged about $200 for it all and the battery is again having issues!!!! I have had problems again starting my car twice in the past month! Again, I could have bought myself a “top shelf” battery for less than half the cost to do it through the dealership. Finally, I also requested that the front and back windshield wipers be replaced. That added another $100+ and, surprise! They are already ruined! Leaving a streak through the middle with less than a month of use. Needless to say, I could have bought better quality ones somewhere else and saved myself the trouble, expense, and frustration. I must say, unless these issues are acknowledged and solved I will never again take my car there and I will deal with the mechanics in town who took care of my previous cars marvelously, for a fraction of the price. It is by far not the easiest option to drive all the way to shingle springs from Tahoe, but it was my impression that my car would get the best parts and service there, clearly, I was mistaken. More
