This is a follow up to my last review. I had another dealer review the actions taken by Southern States Subaru. The found the CVT transmission service performed just two weeks earlier by I had another dealer review the actions taken by Southern States Subaru. The found the CVT transmission service performed just two weeks earlier by Southern States to be completely flawed. The CVT noise being generated was due to CVT oil starvation at the oil pump. The crackerjack team at Southern States put in 8 quarts (as noted on their invoice). The CVT case holds 11 quarts! The review showed my CVT 2.5 quarts low after service at Southern States! They obviously did not follow Subaru Specs and OEM procedures. I should not have to hire a second Subaru dealer to evaluate and determine the maintenance errors introduced at another Subaru dealer. AGAIN, please stay away from these guys at all costs. Or it WILL COST YOU! Again good luck, you've been warned.. More
We just bought a 2025 Forester at Southern States Subaru in Raleigh. Spencer was our sales representative, he is excellent at his job. He made the process go very smooth. After a leisurely hour-long drive—because who doesn’t love spending time on the road—I arrived with high hopes Southern States Subaru in Raleigh, NC? After a leisurely hour-long drive—because who doesn’t love spending time on the road—I arrived with high hopes to see the car I had inquired about. Despite confirming its availability not once, but twice, I was greeted by a vehicle still sporting a “this vehicle not ready for sale” sticker, not inspected, and uncleaned. Clearly, I was expecting too much. But the plot thickens! Daniel G. reassured me not once, not twice, but three times that Maurice would offer me a “deal” that fit within my budget. Which seemed too good to be true. Silly me for expecting honesty and transparency . This experience not only wasted my time but also reinforced the delightful stereotypes about car dealerships and their special treatment towards women. If you’re looking to have your expectations dashed and your time squandered, I highly recommend Southern States Subaru. More
Received a letter from the bank i used to finance my car, 12/8/2023. I paid my car off early, 6/6/2023, and the bank was informing me of a refund I was entitled to from my purchased GAP waiver. I was instructed to contact my car dealer, Southern States Imports, in order to receive my refund. I called almost a dozen times, left several messages, was made promises someone from finance would get back to me. Needless to say, not a single person got back to me. Only after informing the staff I was going to come down in person to speak with someone, did someone call me back. At this point it is 12/2023 and I spoke to Barry, the finance manager. Barry spent the entire conversation mocking and laughing at the amount my refund was. I stated to him, even if the refund was for $0.10, it was still my money and I was entitled to receive it. He guaranteed me I would receive my refund no later than 2/15/2024. Barry, Finance manager, it is now 1/11/2025, where is my refund? I used to love this place, but shady people make this a shady business. More
Outstanding service today from Chuck Vasquez and Bill McGee. While running errands, 3 warning lights went on and I drove right there without an appointment. I had a horrible experience with purchasing my vehicle from this dealership. They are incredibly unorganized, and I found them to be very difficult to work with. They constantly provided me with inaccurat from this dealership. They are incredibly unorganized, and I found them to be very difficult to work with. They constantly provided me with inaccurate information, and made mistakes that cost me money. Their customer service is poor - and at times I had to wonder if they were intentionally scamming me. I asked to speak with the General Manager several times to share feedback about my experience and was never provided the contact information. I would not recommend purchasing a vehicle or doing any service with this dealership. More
These people like to sell you a car, but any service after the sale is nonexistent. We paid $15k down 8 days ago, and our paperwork was going to be mailed to us in "a couple of days". Still no paperwork, and they have no idea where it is, just that "it's been mailed", but no dates when it was mailed. If they're this bad, why would I, or anyone else, ever take their car in for service or repair? Steer clear of these people. They're great until they get your money, then they might as well be invisible. More

I have called the general manager four times now and it appears from other reviews that he did not call people back 3 years ago either. The sales manager finally called instead, made misrepresentations and sent me on a goose chase without actually committing to get the car registered. They don't get that registration is not a negotiation, they are required by law to get it done within a certain timeframe. Its unfortunate that they are allowed to continue to do business this way. Clearly from other reviews the state and Subaru corporate know and have done nothing. More
