Great service, great cars I purchased my 2008 Avalon and 2009 Corolla in 2008 and both cars continue to run great, the Avalon with over 127000 miles. Since purchase, all servicing has been done buy Star Toyota of Bayside. I believe that the continued great performance is due to the quality of Toyota's autos, but also to having them maintained by qualified Toyota mechanics with Toyota parts. I had scheduled and appointment for Star Toyota Service Which was my 1st time there .. I drove my vehicle in was helped by a few young men. After that I was sent inside . Didn't know what to do. Then there comes this Beautiful Young Woman that asked me if I needed help . I said yes , she directed me to where I had to go . Happened to be that the same Beautiful Young Lady was the same one that assisted me with my car. She said to me , ( I'll only keep u here with us for an Hour, lol. ). Wow. That was right. One hour I was escorted to the cashier , very pleasant Lovely smile , very professional and always smiling. ( amazed of a nice professional beautiful woman working as an advisor for Toyota ) very happy with my service. I will deffinently return for my future services. I want always Miss Gloria Alvarenga to be my advisor ... Very Pleased !!! Thank You Miss Gloria Alvarenga. She did request an email from me , don't have one. Star Toyota Service - a JOKE & a RIP-OFF This is THE MOST DISHONEST RIP-OFF establishment I have ever encountered. They do NOT know what they are doing or talking about. I've given this place numerous chances, and each time they do not disappoint. Four years ago, I brought my Sienna in for an oil change and it's complimentary 20 point inspection, where they wanted to charge me about $300 to change 2 filters. Three years ago, I brought it in for the same reason, the mechanic I spoke with put me down for their packaged inspection, for almost $100! Two years ago, I brought it in and they wanted me to get a new tire because I got a nail in it. I took it to another mechanic, and from one touch on that nail, it fell right off. They didn't even touch it!?! They saw a nail and wanted to replace the entire tire. Just this past weekend, I took my Sienna to renew my registration, as well as to take care of any recalls. They do not have the parts to do the recall and failed the inspection because the rack & pinion was leaking. Quoted to replace this part for $1350!!! Again, I took my minivan to my trusted mechanic and quoted to replace the part for less than $900. After he took a closer look, it turned out the rack & pinion was not damaged, but the axle was leaking fluid. So Star Toyota Service failed my state inspection for the wrong reason. How can they do this? How can they keep on doing this? I WILL NEVER COME BACK TO THIS PLACE. DON'T THINK ABOUT COMING HERE unless you want to get ripped off, lied to, fix and replace parts you do not need. More
This dealer has a lot of free offers at the time to buy the vehicle, I bought mine with paid maintenance agreement, after my first visit they were obligated to have an oil change after I reviewed the paper the vehicle, I bought mine with paid maintenance agreement, after my first visit they were obligated to have an oil change after I reviewed the paperwork of what was done in the car they didn't do the oil change and they charged for it. The dealer is deceiving the company that pay my car maintenance and myself as a client. I recommend people who want to service from this dealer to check paperwork after they performed the work. Please don't trust this dealer service department. More
I came here the first time because the Engine light, VSC Trac and VSC Off lights came on. I was told the sensor was the problem and needed a replacement. Okay, I paid nearly $500 just for this one minor pro Trac and VSC Off lights came on. I was told the sensor was the problem and needed a replacement. Okay, I paid nearly $500 just for this one minor problem. (The part only cost $156). Less than 2 weeks later, the same lights came on again. I took it back for a re-service and only to find that, another sensor was defective. I was not happy to find out the second time around that there are 4 sensors. To make matter worst, they found a list of other mechanical problems I was not informed of the first time. What ever happened to the 27 points FREE INSPECTION? Clearly, someone didn't do his job! Kevin was assigned to help me with the service light problems. He was absolutely professional and friendly from the moment I met him, till the moment I left the dealership. He went out of his way to make sure I was completely happy with all the work that was done. Though I ended up spending more money on fixing on all the problems, Kevin gave me a good price. Beware of the service department. They will not help you. I was told I need service package D because I had over 27K miles. Their package D is for vehicles with 30K miles and costs $535.90. After 10 minutes in waiting room, I realized I had only 24K! I should have been given package B. Package B is for 25K miles and costs $192.90. I went back and told service tech. John A. He said he would take care of it and make the correction. I thought correction was to give me package B. This would have saved me $343. Finally got car back 1 1/2 hour after promised time. Went to pay and was charged the more expensive package D. Went back to John to question why. He didn’t even want look at the bill. His answer was confusing and rude. He had earlier said he would make a correction. He only correction the milage they had on record. Not the service request and not the bill! It was like changing our phone number in their system. My husband and I were still confused and were looking at the paperwork for any other things they could have charged us for and John A. keep saying “Okay! Good-bye. Have a nice day”. We stood there trying to figure out our budget, he says again “Okay! Good-bye. Have a nice day”. Then went back to joking with his co-workers. We paid the $824 (we also got the state inspection, battery change and rear wiper change. Should have been only $481. That was the last time I will ever go back there. A few days later I filled out the on-line survey they asked me to fill-out. I gave them a bad review. I doubt they will ever respond. Star Toyota Of Bayside’s service, uncaring and dishonest. More
