Should have been a relatively painless experience. Pete my salesmen was great but the ball got dropped when a problem with my registration came up. I was advised to transfer the registration since it was cheaper despite the fact it was expiring the next month. We noticed I had lost a plate when they went to move the plates from my old car to the new one. They were supposed to go to the registry to change my registration, either transfer or get a new one, since I only had one plate. Pete was off for a few days and whoever was taking care of this , didn't. I called twice to see if my registration was all set, specifically asking about the missing plate issue, and was told both times it was all set. When I came to pick it up, I realized that the registration was transferred to my new car, (was done "in house") but was illegal since I still only had one plate. Several staff discussed this issue but it was left unresolved. I was advised to go get it inspected since time was running out, and get a rejection sticker which would buy me some time to solve this issue. So I got the rejection sticker, then spent a week and a half dealing with a less than bright, insurance agent who kept getting her requests denied. Turned out she was trying to transfer my registration even though I kept telling her I needed to either report a lost plate and get a duplicate plate or get a new registration altogether. She told me I was driving illegally and technically I was, and she would cancel my insurance, or I technically had no insurance on that car or plate or ..., so I lost a week and a half of work on top of everything else. So even though I really want to change agents now, I am sort of stuck as they are the only one available to me. So your salesman was great and probably would have resolved this issue on day one if he hadn't been off, whoever was in charge didn't follow-up and what could and should have been a painless experience, was a huge headache for me. I still love my new car which replaced an almost 18 year old Legacy which I also loved. So despite the problem I had, I think this was so unusual that I doubt I would have another problem if I bought a car here again. Everyone was very helpful and friendly while I was there, even after the sale. Pete did apologize immensely when I spoke to him when he made his follow-up call, he seemed genuinely concerned. I was just so frustrated that my registration wasn't just changed to a new one at the start which would have happened if only the title/registry person at the dealership had checked with the registry like Pete told them to. I am more angry with my insurance agent for having an incompetent worker who was also so set in her mind that she would not listen to me until after over a week. When she finally did, I got my new registration immediately with two new plates. One other concern I have is that going over the paperwork is so fast, I really am not sure if I did the right thing re: the extended warranty or not. Really need to take this stuff home and read it at your quiet, unstressed, private home. I still need to read everything and may end up making changes if I can. More

Then returned a few weeks later as exhaust started making an awful noise and front left headlight went out. They replaced the front headlight for a whopping $49! The bulb costing $29. The awful noise was down to two splits at 2 flanges along the exhaust, past the rear convertor. I am disappointed that these splits or rusting was not noticed during the work to replace the cat convertor and work on other parts of the car. This work was quoted at over $1600! As I know the parts are likely a lot cheaper I looked around for quotes from other garages. The cheapest quote was just under $600! Big difference. Also after leaving Subaru after getting the left headlight replaced the right headlight went. I wasn't prepared to pay another $49 so I called the garage who gave me the cheaper quote for the other work. They replaced it and only charged $15! Big difference again. Sadly I will not be returning to the dealership any time soon as it appears to be rather expensive. Disappointing as everyone was very friendly and the waiting area was very nice. In summary- the dealership service center was great for warranty work (where everything is free), but not so good for service work not covered by warranty. Over 100% more expensive than other local auto repair garages. More

There's a familiarity and friendliness which puts to rest the negativity of the term "car salesman." Steve and his crew have always made the process not only painless but lots of fun. More

He even went above and beyond to try and help me contact my insurance company so I could drive out of the lot with my new car that day. The price was more than fair for a great quality vehicle and the entire staff was friendly and genuine. Great car buying experience! I came to Steve Lewis to look at a 2015 Legacy that I viewed on Auto trader. I told Tyler what I was looking for, and although the car spoke for itse I came to Steve Lewis to look at a 2015 Legacy that I viewed on Auto trader. I told Tyler what I was looking for, and although the car spoke for itself, Tyler was helpful with his no-pressure attitude, explaining the various features of the car. Once the decision to purchase was made, everything went very smoothly and the entire staff made it a great experience. Because the showroom was busy that day, we did have a wait to complete the sale through the finance office, running past lunchtime. We were in with Larry, and Joe Clark brought in 3 sandwiches, realizing we were probably hungry. Nice touch! Larry was knowledgeable in his job and got us in and out quickly. Completing the sale, Julie showed us all of the features of the car and was very helpful. Summary: A great car buying experience! More
