When I visited Stivers Decatur, I was not sure what car I wanted to purchase, but I had narrowed it down to a Subaru Forester, a Toyota Prius, or another Nissan Frontier, which I was replacing. James Smith met me at the door and took me out to look at the Foresters. I drove a Forester and really liked it so we talked about a price and an estimate on my trade in. He was able to estimate a payment for me based on my self-reported credit history. I still wanted to go test drive a Prius and the Frontier, so I was out of their in under an hour. The Toyota and Nissan experiences were very different. Not estimating anything. Both just wanted to "get me into finance" so the hard sellers could wear me down and suck me into a deal I may have regretted. I left both of those dealerships angry and returned to Stivers the next day and purchased the Forester. the whole experience was painless and pressure-free. These guys do business a lot like the old Saturn dealership they replaced and I really appreciate their customer-centered approach. Plus the 4-wheel drive Forester is hard to beat in the compact SUV class. More

From the first time I met Wesley months ago to the time of my purchase last week it was clear he wanted my business and would do all within his power to earn it. Wesley was not pushy. He followed up with phone calls but gave me the space and time to do the research I needed to make a decision. When I told him I was considering buying with a different dealer Wesley worked with his sales manager to offer me a car with more options at a lower price. James and Shane showed a great deal of respect to us as customers - not being pushy, but rather knowledgeable about the vehicle we wanted to buy. They allowed to test drive different cars without unnecessary rush, skillfully highlighting the vehicle's capabilities under different driving conditions. After we returned to office, they patiently explained us different optional features we can get in the car and their cost. They were willing to discuss with us pros and cons of different options in an objective manner. They also explained us different purchasing options and compare the cost of alternative approaches. They provided us with outmost comprehensive information we needed to make a sound decision about purchasing the car. After we left the dealership, both James and Shane followed up with us through e-mail and telephone to answer any additional questions we had. At the end, they were a large part why we decided to use this dealership to purchase our new Subaru Outback. More

The next step was with Jacob, the finance officer. Again we worked with someone who we felt was honest and direct. At no time did we feel we were being pressured to purchase something we felt we did not need. Nor were there any surprises during the entire purchasing process. We highly recommend Stivers Subaru, particularly James Smith, and we look forward to continuing a positive experience with the dealership through their service department. More

I made an offer, they made a reasonable counter offer, and we had a deal. My price out the door was exactly what they told me it would be.
