Nash was a friendly, knowledgeable salesman who was not pushy in his approach whatsoever. I felt that he took pride in honesty and providing information, rather than just closing the deal. These things, al More

I was ignored when I walked in. They offered me much less than Edmunds' value. I was looking for a black 2001 Jetta -- they said bad things about the new Jetta and tried to sell me a red 2010 Jetta which I c More

Our dealership participates in the DealerRater.com Certified Dealer Program. We are committed to providing high quality customer service, but based on your DealerRater.com review, you did not share that experience. That is very disappointing to us, and through this program we have the opportunity to work with you to resolve any issues with your experience at our dealership. I realize that you have already purchased a vehicle elsewhere, but any additional commentary that you could provide regarding your experience may assist us in making improvements to our processes to prevent this type of experience from occurring again. Were you expecting a value closer to Edmunds' because you had a discussion with one of our sales consultants or managers prior to your visit? Did the sales consultant offer a non-black 2011 Jetta as an alternative, or did he only offer a 2010 Jetta as an alternative? What type of bad things did the sales consultant have to say about the 2011 Jetta? Any information that you could provide would be appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to review Sutliff Volkswagen. Regards, David Smith VP Sales Sutliff Volkswagen

The research I did on Edmunds and Kelly Blue Book indicated that the trade-in value for my car was between $4300 and $4700. CVM looked at my car and offered me $4500, but your salesman (without having anyone actually look at my car) said it was worth only $3500-$4000. He said that the 2011 Jetta was a downgrade from the 2010 model and that he would never drive a 2011 model, that the 2010 TDI model was the best car I would find. He also kept talking up the diesel engine even though I told him that I drive less than 1 mile to work so gas mileage was not a priority for me. He said he was going to buy this particular red 2010 Jetta for his daughter but then she changed her mind. I don't know if that fact had anything to do with why he was pushing that particular car. I was interested in leasing (another reason I was not interested in a 2010 model) but he basically said that leasing was a waste of money. So I walked in looking to lease a black 2011 Jetta, but he tried to sell me a red 2010 Jetta. It was exactly the kind of experience that makes people not like salesmen.

Thank you for the additional information. It sounds as if we failed in a number of areas. Sometimes as sales people, we forget to listen and we assume too much. We should have accurately evaluated your trade-in and we should have allowed you to experience the 2011 Jetta without bias. I will address this issue with the sales consultant and his immediate supervisor. This is certainly not the type of experience that one would expect from any of the Sutliff dealerships. We are better than that. I hope that you will one day give us an opportunity to redeem ourselves, either through our service and parts department, or when you are ready to purchase another vehicle. Thanks again for your candor and for initially considering Sutliff Volkswagen. If there is anything that I can assist you with in the future, please feel free to contact me. Regards, David
