My Review of Suzuki of Elmhurst:
I was totally baited and switched at this dealership. I wanted an '06, manual, all wheel drive Grand Vitara. Went in and was told he found two in the area. Test drove one, not the one that I wanted, but one to give me an idea if I liked the car. I said I'd come back tomorrow with financing, and we'll seal the deal. I came back the next day, financing in hand. Was told both cars I wanted were now sold, but he'd offer me a "great deal" on one on the lot. I told him I was upset I had wasted my time on two cars that now didn't exist. He pretty much went off on me, told me it was the "Suzuki Inventory System" problem, and when I told him no thanks, because I just didn't have a good feeling about it, he told me he didn't want my business anyway and to get out. That's the gist, to detail every misleading thing and lie he told would take way too much time.

Went directly to Phelan Suzuki 10 miles away (don't believe this website there are no dealers within 50 miles of Elmhurst Suzuki, there are several). Phelan found 5 Grand Vitaras like that one I wanted within 250 miles of the dealership. One was 10 miles away. They went to get it that afternoon, and I had it that evening. They were great to work with. Love the car, wish I had just gone there first.

I would avoid Suzuki of Elmhurst like the plague.

My Review of Suzuki of Elmhurst:
JOY RIDE CAR WRECK. On 1/9/06, I took my car in to Suzuki of Elmhurst for a power steering fluid leak, and elected to also get my brakes replaced. I was told they needed to order the part and would keep the car but would arrange a loaner. I received a call that the car was ready for pick-up on the evening of 1/13/06. When I picked up the car the next morning, the mileage reflected an 80-mile discrepancy from when I dropped it off. I was told that sometimes, someone from service may drive a car home for a test drive. The service manager reimbursed me for $10 gas. Upon arriving home, I noticed some damage to the front end. I called the service manager and told her about the damage, and she told me to bring the car in on Monday morning (1/17/06) and they would look at it. I brought the car in and the service manager said she would speak to the body-shop manager. She then told me that several cars were damaged in the back lot over the weekend and that they would take care of my car ASAP. She further stated that the incident that damaged my car was recorded on surveillance tape and that they would investigate. She did not say that they would be working with the police. On 1/18/06, I received a message on my voice mail from my insurance company. The message on this call was directed to the NAME OF THE SERVICE MANAGER at Suzuki. The message was inquiring about an accident in Aurora involving my vehicle on 1/13/06. The other driver involved in the accident was claiming both damages and injuries, and the message indicated that the insurance information given at the time of the accident was against my policy. I immediately contacted the dealership, but while they agreed to repair my vehicle, I have received no apology and have been told I will not be compensated for the time off from work I had to take to resolve the issue. I further discovered that the dealership knew of the accident before my insurance company contacted me, and yet no one called me to proactively address the situation. The repairs to my vehicle were not complete as of the writing of this review.
