About The Sharpe Collection

Founded in 1982 by George Sharpe Sr., The Sharpe Collection was originally purchased as Staal Buick BMW with partner and close friend Al Serra. The Sharpe Collection of Premium Automobiles is a family-owned MINI Cooper, BMW, Land Rover and Jaguar dealership in Grand Rapids, MI.

George Sharpe Sr. originally began as a car detailer for Mr. Serra in Pontiac, MI. Under the guidance of Mr. Serra, Sharpe excelled and went on to create some of the most groundbreaking dealership ideologies in the area. A few of these include the first non-commissioned sales staff in West Michigan and The Sharpe Promise which features a money-back guarantee on pre-owned vehicles.

The Land Rover franchise was acquired in 1997 and Jaguar was added in 2003. In 1999, Mr. Serra retired and George Sharpe Sr. bought the remaining shares. In 2005, the Buick franchise was sold back to General Motors and MINI Cooper was acquired shortly after.

Now owned and operated by George Sharpe Sr. and his sons Blair and George Jr., The Sharpe Collection covers a 13-acre campus with four unique showrooms displaying the BMW, MINI, Jaguar and Land Rover brands.

We serve West Michigan customers with expertly trained, non-commissioned sales staff, factory-trained technicians, parts experts and full detail service. Our goal through discipline, hard work and listening is to provide the ultimate customer experience.

My Review Of The Sharpe Collection:

I had been shopping for a used SUV for about three months. When I first met Ric, I did not buy the SUV I test drove, but he kept my contact info and said he would keep an eye out for me when SUV's were traded in at the dealership. I had two other dealerships in the area tell me the same thing, but I never heard from them after I walked out of the showroom. When Ric contacted me with a couple other SUV's I may be interested in, I actually was pleasantly surprised that he did not forget me. Once you walk out of the showroom, Ric will keep working to find what you're looking for, not many dealerships work that hard to make a potential customer, a definite customer. I am so happy with my new SUV, and I have Ric to thank for that. He is very knowledgeable about BMW's and can answer any question you may have. I will definitely recommend Ric to my friends.

My Review Of The Sharpe Collection:

We purchased a new BMW X-5 a year ago and have had a few questions regarding Navigation and Electronics. I worked with Quentin Groce several times; he was extremely knowledgeable, professional and very pleasant to work with. I have been in the service industry my entire life and have rarely encountered an individual so committed to making the customer's experience as satisfying as possible.

He is definitely an asset to The Sharpe Collection and I would highly recommend Quentin as your go-to salesperson!!!

My Review Of The Sharpe Collection:

The entire process of buying a car was foreign to us, you see the last car we purchased was in 2003. Not wanting to walk into a dealership and have the proverbial 'salesmen swarm' engulf us, we went to the dealer website, read the Bio's for each of the 'Client Advisors' and selected one that we thought would best fit what we were looking for in a salesperson. From day one we knew we had the right person! Ric Conkey spent every minute we asked for answering every question we had. His knowledge of the Sharpe inventory was amazing. Walking us through, step by step, the subtle differences of each model helped us make an educated decision. Yup, that's what we got, BMW 101, from the professor himself. I'm certain that if you're looking for a vehicle you can't go wrong looking at the Sharpe Collection. The only issue we had was with the pricing policy - We understand it, doesn't mean we have to like it. When all is said and done though, there is no doubt, you're going to get the absolute best price possible........And..........the best driving vehicle. Our 2012 BMW 535ix is a dream to drive, a computer on wheels, awesome! When you go to Sharpe BMW, ask for Ric Conkey, and as he walks you around one of their amazing BMW's, pointing out the this's and that's, ask him to show you how he unlocks the doors using the BMW badge on the front of the car! Very slick Ric!

My Review Of The Sharpe Collection:

We have nothing but great things to say about our experience with Quentin Groce at Sharpe BMW. After talking with him its clear he is very passionate about his work, which made the entire buying process easy and enjoyable. We chose to order a 2014 BMW X3 M-Sport from the factory so we could pick and choose the colors and options that we feel are important. Quentin kept us updated on the progress and even sent me pictures as the vehicle was being unloaded from the carrier truck. As we pulled into the dealership to take delivery, we saw the X3 parked out front with a big red bow on the roof. How cool! Quentin took time to go over all the features of the car, like iDrive and navigation, and even stuck around after closing time to ensure we understood everything. He followed-up with us again the day after delivery to see how everything was going.

This is our 5th BMW and second from Sharpe, and we definitely plan to work with Quentin again in the future. He is very professional, has great follow-up and communication and overall is just a nice guy. We would recommend him to friends and family without hesitation!

When the entire experience goes so smoothly, it's hard to know exactly what to say...
My pre-visit research indicated that the car is one of the best on the market, with Excellent Owner Cost; Very Good Owner Satisfaction; Excellent Accident Avoidance; Excellent Fuel Economy; Good Predicted Reliability, Excellent driveability and Very Good Value Retention.

I went to the dealership with one question left, "Am I going to fit comfortably into the vehicle ?"
I was met at the door. The sales representative took me directly into going over the features, "Yes. I fit into the car."
The test drive was efficient, complete and fun.
The price was exactly where I needed it to be.
Selection (from extended inventory, i.e., including other dealerships), acquisition and delivery all went smoothly. I was pleased to not have to wait on a manufacturer order.
And, I am now driving and enjoying my 2013 Mini Cooper.
Good Job to Everyone Involved. Thanks :)

Rick is an outstanding sales professional. He took time to present all car features and he made himself available to us after hours if we had an questions after we left the dealership. My Review Of The Sharpe Collection:

I purchased a BMW at Sharpe in February of 2013 and I wanted to share a few things about my experience at Sharpe. Quentin Groce was my sales rep and he was absolutely incredible. My prior BMW had been declared totaled and I had no choice but to purchase another vehicle and during that stressful, frustrating time for me, Quentin made my experience at Sharpe nothing but positive. He was incredibly accommodating while we patiently waited to hear back from my insurance company, we test drove two cars which he was very knowledgeable about both of them and he took care of all the transferring of insurance policies and out-of-state license plate changes. The icing on the cake was once all the paperwork was completed and I was so anxious to get out of there in my new car, I walked outside to find a huge,red bow on my new BMW. It was so special and so exciting for me, something I will never forget. Thank you Quentin Groce and Sharpe BMW on a great experience!
