My Review of Thomason Auto Group:
The date was Dec 23rd, 2005. Starting in 2006, a new Federal Tax credit kicked in, giving customers thousands in tax saving on the new Honda Civic Hybrid. I called all around town, and nobody could deliver me a Magnetic Pearl color with navigation unit before mid-January, due to the 2006 rush on hybrids(to get the credit). Everyone except Thomason, that is. A salesperson named Juan told me I was in luck, he had managed to trade for the car I wanted and could even deliver it to my door on Jan 1st. He took my credit card and we discussed financing.
There followed a gap in communication with Thomason, where it was unclear who was handling my purchase. At the time, I believed that Thomason just wanted me to go away, so I did... I found another dealer and made arrangements to get the car I was looking at. The other dealer was unable to deliver until sometime in March. I was pretty peeved, but Thomason did the right thing in the end. When they found out my situation, the dealership worked very hard to get me the color and package I was looking for. When they found the car (presumably by trading another dealer for it), they held it on the lot while I was on vacation, even though this model could have been sold instantly.
Juan did all my paperwork over the phone, then delivered the car to my doorstep. All I had to do was give some information and sign the papers.
In summary, I started out very excited about the deal Thomason found for me, got very upset when that deal fell through and it seemed the dealership abandoned me, then felt satisfied when they did the extra work to make things right. All in all, I give Thomason a passing grade. It wasn't the smoothest of transactions due to the first of the year rush, but when things firmed up, they made the sale very easy for me.
