As an A+ 25+ years accredited Better Business Bureau rated business, we regret that Mr. Rickert feels his experience with Tom Leis Auto Sales was less than satisfactory. Mr. Rickert considered the purchase of this vehicle for several days. He also took the vehicle to his mechanic for a mechanical check before purchasing the vehicle as he requested, there were no electrical issues or water leaks found by his mechanic. When Mr. Rickert began experiencing problems with starting the car, we recommended a third party accredited Jeep mechanic to determine what the issue was, we were at that time willing to offer help with repairs once the problem was diagnosed. Mr. Rickert took the Jeep and the mechanic started the vehicle numerous times over several days and never had a problem, so there was no issue we could help with. We were unaware of further starting problems so Mr Rickert's concerns were not ignored. We made attempt to help Mr. Rickert with the issues he said he was having starting the car . At the time of purchase there were no leaks in the car, had there been, there would have been obvious evidence of leaking at the time of purchase. The law in the state of Kentucky is that vehicles are "sold AS-IS". As stated above, these leaks appeared "a few weeks later". Pre-owned cars come with a certain amount of risk of problems developing, however, we pride ourselves in servicing all of our cars and performing a safety check before we put the car on the lot for sale. We want to sell our customers only quality pre-owned vehicles. This is how we have successfully practiced business for 33 years and what has helped us to earn our excellent A+ Rating and 25 year accredited business award from The Better Business Bureau. We are an A+ 25+year Better Business Bureau accredited business, which is earned by proving quality, integrity and honesty within our business practices. When we were first notified by the customer that he was having trouble with the vehicle, he inquired as to what mechanic we would recommend to look at the problem. We suggested he take it to a Honda dealership. The repairs that he is describing are very common on a vehicle with 125,000 miles and can happen at any time with out any visible warning and part of the risk when buying a pre-owned vehicle. We strive to provide pre-owned vehicles that have the best historical evidence of dependability. We also service all of our vehicles to further try and insure that the vehicle will prove to be a quality purchase. There are times though that unpredictable things happen that are completely out of our control. This does not happen often with our vehicles as reflected in our A+ 25+ year Better Business Bureau rating and 4.0 + ratings on cars.com, google and cargurus.com By Kentucky state law, the vehicle in question was purchased from us As-Is. The As-Is statement was signed at the time of purchase, acknowledging he understood the As-Is policy.
