Outstanding Advice and Help - catofoster
Arrived back home after extended vacation to find a "dead" Traverse in garage. Tried everything I could think of without success. Called Eric in Service Dep't and he provided professional advice and suggestions for solution to the problem. I took his suggestion to let dealer come out and tow auto into their place to correct problem and to also take care of "recall" on auto. Technician Mike came out and was extremely professional in the way he loaded auto and just left me with a "good feeling". Picked up auto after 1:30 pm and I knew they would keep all weekend. To my surprise, two hours later, I received call that car problem was corrected and "recall" taken care of and was ready for pickup. I did and everything was perfect. Thanks to Eric and Mike and to the dealership for excellent service. I will highly recommend to anyone.

I shopped other Toyota Dealerships in Central Arkansas but chose Wright. The pricing was upfront, no runaround. I got top dollar for my trade, no other dealer was close. One dealer would not give me a price on a new truck unless i committed. I walked out.It's a small dealership so you get the personal service the other dealers don't have. All the big dealers want is to sell you a vehicle. Not at Wright, very easy going, laid back, they take care of their customers. It was worth the drive to do business with them.

My wife was in the market for a new truck but we had not done much shopping yet. We were at Wood Motor Company buying some parts for my 1969 Chevrolet and mentioned to Jim Hilton the Parts Manger, that it might be time for a truck. He surprised us with his detailed knowledge of inventory that aligned to what my wife was looking for and that sparked her interest. Jim introduced us to Reed James in sales and two days later we closed a deal on a new Silverado High Country. Billy McCutcheon demonstrated the truck's nearly endless features before we drove it off the lot. We are very pleased with the great deal on a new Chevy and a competitive price for a BMW trade. I guess that's what you'd expect from great place full of great people. Wood Motor Company delivered much more than just a vehicle. We will be going back there again.

I went in originally to get my oil changed and look at used vehicles. I was there early, so I was able to walk the Russell lot as well as a couple others and had about 5 trucks I wanted to look at.
When returning to the dealership, I noticed a truck with a "special clearance" designation. I walked in the lobby and ran into Randy Gilbreth, who sold me the truck I was currently in. We had some small chat and I told him what I was up to. He said he would help me with whichever area I wanted to shop and informed me on the last truck I inquired on. Needless to say, we came to a very agreeable deal and I left with my new truck. The experience was seamless and there was no high pressure tactics used. I will definitely return to Russell when we are ready to purchase our next vehicle.

Went in to test drive and I to buy a suburban. Walked in and no one said hello nor did anyone make eye contact. Several staff were visiting with each other so it wasn't that they were too busy. After we stood for a long time we left. Terrible service - wanted to support business in Siloam - We will make our purchase elsewhere.

Dealership installs Passenger tires on a Heavy Duty Pickup - Greg
Summary of Events:
I purchased a 2013 Chevy Silverado 2500HD from Joe Lee Chevrolet in Clinton, AR. As part of the sales agreement, the dealership agreed to replace two worn tires, upon taking possession, they had replaced all four tires. This was a pleasant surprise; until I found out they were not rated for a 3/4 ton pickup. They are passenger tires, Bridgestone P255/70R17 (4 ply tires).
I have contacted GM and they said the recommended replacement will be located on a sticker inside the driver door, which states LT245/75R17E. I have also consulted with several tire dealers and a Bridgestone dealer, who all said that 'P' (passenger) tires should not be installed on a 3/4 ton pickup and should have E (10 ply) rated tires. Joe Lee Chevrolet’s own ‘tire finder’ website list only LT tires as replacements.
The following quote is from a Bridgestone representative in an article titled, ‘Advice: Light Truck vs Passenger car tires: what you should know’*:
“It’s a serious safety issue,” says Dino Tenuta, Bridgestone Canada’s Manager of Technical Services. “A P-metric (passenger) tire will generally not stand the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of a truck designed for LT-metric tires…”
“Additionally, he explains, handling, braking, and stability can all be affected when mounting a non-OE rated tire on the vehicle.”
Another quote from the same article:
“Vehicle manufacturers and tire companies alike stress the importance of sticking with OE LT-metric tires on your truck. Swapping an OE LT-metric tire for a P-metric tire can have dangerous consequences.”
They have admitted to pulling them off of a 1/2 ton pickup which weighs 4,860lbs. When I told the sales manager I didn't buy a 1/2 ton pickup, I bought a 3/4 ton pickup, a Silverado 2500HD, which weighs 9,500lbs, he said “this conversation is over” and hung up.
When I originally brought this to their attention, I was told that if I wanted to 'upgrade' the tires, I would have to pay the difference in price and the cost of mounting/balancing. It should not be considered an upgrade to have the original equipment rated tires to be on a vehicle when you purchase it. Negotiating was not an option; I was told flatly by the sales manager “I am not buying anymore tires for that truck’.
I asked for the original tires back, but the dealer said they no longer had them. I have tried to negotiate with the dealer, but the sales manager said 'I am not buying anymore tires for that truck'. I was told if I wanted to 'upgrade', they would give me $80 'trade-in' for the tires on it now and I pay the difference for the upgraded tires (over $100 per tire), plus the cost of mounting/balancing. I declined this offer as I did not consider original equipment tires an upgrade.
I understand that I bought the truck used and ‘as-is’. As it was when I agreed to purchase the truck was with LT tires. I requested the two rear tires be replaced as a condition of purchase, they agreed to do so. It does not seem unreasonable to expect a dealership to install the properly rated and sized tires. I liken this to the dealership fueling the vehicle with the correct grade and fuel type. It is not expected that they would use anything other than what is recommended for the vehicle. It seems that it would be reasonably expected that they would do the same with the tires, such a critical part of the vehicle given its Heavy Duty nature and the loads it is capable of hauling.
I use a truck to haul a 1,000lb four-wheeler and tow a 7,000lb camper, all of which I relayed to the salesperson, Hassle. Now, if I drive on the currently installed tires, not rated nor recommended by GM, any tire dealer I have contacted, Bridgestone industry experts, or any tire manufacturer I have found, I put me and my family’s lives at risk.

They sold my Fiancé a lemon, took her $35,000 and ran left her and our NEW BORN PREEMIE BABY, with no A/C in 105° weather with heat advisory across the state. She paid in full for a brand new Truck and now even a little over a year and a half the A/C goes out and the Battery and they won't fix it,
The head manager was a complete Jerk, and went back on his word he promised to fix the A/C then lied and didn't fix it. Ripped us off completely, my fiancé Purchased a New 2014 Z71 From this dealer bought it ought right that year brand new 0 miles right off the lot ( PAID IN FULL ) mind you, $35,000 and we've had nothing but trouble with it, it's a 2014 make date was the latter part of 2014 so it's production date is 2015, not even a year and a half later the A/C compressor went out, a week before the a/c went out the battery went out. It only has 50,000 miles!!! So i called they said bring it in, so i did we drove 2 hrs to the dealer, brought it in we spoke to the parts manager, they told us sence it was 50,000 miles it wasnt covered unknowingly I did not know that before I met my fiance she did not purchase the extended warranty she said that no one told her about it she was young at the time and this was her first car so I'm sure no one told her about the extended warranty and gap insurance I worked at a dealership for several years so I know these things, but working in the automotive dealership business I also know the value of customer service and taking care of your customers and going out of your way to make sure that they are taken care of because YOUR CLIENTS ARE THE HEART BEAT OF YOUR COMPANY AND THE BLOOD FLOW TO THE BRAIN and to keep good business the customer is ALWAYS RIGHT! and you take care of them 150% no matter what at least that's what a true business man does right? They sent us away saying they could not fix the part butt the parts manager told us that we could buy the part at a auto place and put it on for cheaper than that what they could sense they wouldn't fix it. So they sent me and our 3 kids away in the heat. What a JOKE OF A DEALER, MAKES ME SICK. TO TREAT KIDS AND FAMILY LIKE THIS , TOLD US FIX IT YOUR SELF wow really?? and said that would be the best way sence they wouldnt fix the part after she paid in full for that 2014 truck not even a year and a half earlier WOW!! , here it is hot summer Arkansas in June with Temps reaching nearly 100° at this time, and we have 3 kids from 6 - 11 years of age and a premature infant in NICU in UAMS little rock that's soon to come home and we must have air conditioning when traveling with her in the truck. I explained this to them and ask if there was anything they could do still saying no, I said I'd fix it myself then,So thats what i set out to do, I went to a nearby auto store and purchased what I assumed to be the correct part they gave me the part number at the dealer i purchased it from parts store for $350 went home only to find that the part was not the same and that the one I needed was for a 2015 model and could only be purchased through the manufacturer, OK so I call Gentry Automotive back and requested to speak with the owner Mr. Gentry I get the runaround for three days finally I'm concerned that my daughter will be getting out of the NICU unit and with the Temps rising nearly to 102° with heat advisory in arkansas, and no air conditioning in this 102° scorching hot weather I get ahold of the assistant manager, I explained to him my situation, and ask to speak and tell him I tried to replace it myself but the part could not be ordered because it was a 2015 manufacture date of assembly and sale for a 2015 and no local auto parts store carry the part it had to be through the dealer, he proceeded to say that since she basically paid $35,000 for a product that did not work and is incapable of working after only a year-and-a-half of use, he used the excuse they didn't make the parts so Parts fail and it's not their fault. I completely understand that being in the customer service industry and working in sales most of my life and now running my own business but I also understand customer satisfaction and taking care of your clients. The HEARTBEAT OF YOUR BUSINESS .... CAUSE GUESS WHAT WITH OUT CLIENTELE THERE IS NO BUISNESS!! went to pick up 2010 Camaro with clean carfax and promised everything was good. Got it home had been badly damaged and repainted all the way around, including new glass. My inspector suggested I get my money back, they gave me the run-a-around. Finally got a refund, this show they knew it was a bad deal. Could have sued these folks! if you buy a used look it over very closely.
