Then another engine light...and within two weeks we had several engine lights and a failing transmission. After fighting with Brent the sales managers several times I finally decided to just take the car back. They were open to the exchange, but were definately trying hard to make money back. They had us running in circles and it seemed like you never actually got to talk to the person you needed to talk to. Oh, and forget about ever talking to the owner...it's almost like he doesn't even exist.

Because I knew what model I wanted, the negotiations were conducted over the phone, and the salesperson I was working with told me he was a manager. He agreed to lease me the car I wanted at about $10/month above the price I wanted, with $1,000 down at signing. I called him that evening and left a voice message saying I would be in the next day so long as the total monthly payment was the amount he offered. Then, when I arrived at the dealership ready to sign the paperwork and pick up the car, right before I signed the paperwork (I had already been there close to an hour) the story changed and he told me he thought I meant that the "total monthly amount" we were talking about was "before taxes", and that once taxes were added it would add about $55 to the monthly payment. When I asked him whether he thought my voicemail from the night before was unclear, he said he understood it, but didn't get it until that morning. Which does not explain why he didn't immediately call me when he did hear it, to correct my "misunderstanding". It also turns out he was not a manager, because when we had to continue to negotiate the deal it involved the finance manager and the general manager. Long story short, after being at the dealership for close to 4 hours and having to negotiate with several parties, I ended up signing the lease and taking the car. I will never do business with them again, and I would recommend to anyone who deals with them that you get everything in writing before you go in to sign and drive.
