It was a lifelong goal of mine to purchase an Audi from - Tariq Soliman
It was a lifelong goal of mine to purchase an Audi from Audi of Manhattan, but this experience has completely changed my perception of the brand and dealership.
My business partner and I visited Audi of Manhattan with the intent to purchase a 2025 Audi SQ5. We were financially qualified, completed a credit check, obtained pre-approval, and were prepared to either pay in full or lease. Despite this, we encountered repeated refusals to provide standard financial information and a pattern of behavior that fell far below reasonable consumer expectations.
Throughout the process, the dealership declined to disclose basic financing terms, including monthly payment estimates, unless we first wired a significant payment. We were asked to complete a credit check simply to test-drive the vehicle, yet the dealership later refused to complete the sale altogether. During what was supposed to be our signing appointment, we were left unattended for more than two hours while the representative assisted another client, with no updates or explanation provided.
After continued attempts to obtain clarity on financing details, the dealership abruptly refunded our deposit and informed us they would not proceed with the sale. No specific or documented reason was provided for this reversal, despite prior assurances that the transaction would move forward. This occurred even after we confirmed our ability and willingness to finalize the purchase under any standard terms.
This experience reflects a lack of transparency, poor communication, and unprofessional conduct. As a consumer making a significant purchase, I expected clear information, consistent service, and respectful treatment — none of which were provided. I am sharing this experience to caution other buyers and to urge Audi corporate to review the practices at this location to ensure they align with the brand’s stated standards and consumer expectations.
