Worked with the salesman all afternoon via phone, text, - Trwinnd
Worked with the salesman all afternoon via phone, text, email to buy a used Passport that had been on their lot for over 3 weeks. Agreed to their trade in quote, agreed to asking price which was $2k above FMV, then set up our own financing through our CU at a crazy low interest rate. Suddenly, they had “someone local” test driving it and we were pushed behind that supposed buyer. They said they couldn’t just pull it away from that supposed buyer who they admitted they weren’t even sure could qualify to buy it and we would have to wait to see how that panned out. GSM, Michael, called us after I blew up at the sales person, Justin, that I had been dealing with. He started blowing smoke and ultimately blamed me. He said he had listened to all phone calls and at no time did I say I would buy it. I figured it was a given since I had the sales guy send me a video of the vehicle, I drove to my Wife’s work and took pictures of her vehicle, sent the pics to them, talked to their trade in person and agreed to their number, told the sales guy I then needed to call my CU to get financing lined up which took about 15 minutes. They said they couldn’t beat that and suddenly had a different buyer. We were in awe. The positive out of all of this is that it has cured my wife of her desire to own another Honda since we had a bad experience with the Fargo Honda dealership about 7 years ago too. I guess they think Hondas are that good. I’m a Toyota guy and now my wife is too.
