Expensive! - Locally miffed

Expensive! Had a misfire on a Rogue. Local shop couldn't figure it out after replacing coils, plugs and a valve cover gasket. Sent me to the dealer. It get a $215 diagnostic which is waived if you do repair there. First pass at car revealed a bad brake booster. Quoted $2300 to replace-1800 for the part and 500 labor. Found the part for $709 (yes, it's OEM). Replaced it myself and still had misfire. Turns out the wrong plugs were installed by the local shop. 4 new plugs only set me back $371. I could have and should have replaced them myself for under $100. Pricing gets them 1 star.

Maria was absolutely amazing and made me feel very welcomed. She was easy to talk to and was super helpful when I got oil change. I also wanted to give credit to Chaime (not sure on spelling) bc about a month or so ago I ran over white paint in the road. Imagine how panicked I was having a black jeep! I went in very upset and he took the time to help me power wash it. Some of the guys in the back also took their time in making sure it all came off and this is after it had dried. Chaime also stayed after all his coworkers were leaving just to make sure I was taken care of. I was there for over 2 hours and they took the time to help me. I can’t thank them enough. I honestly don’t know what I would’ve done if he hadn’t helped me out. I am super impressed with the customer service at this location. You all are obviously striving to make customers feel welcomed and leave happy. Thank you so much!!! Also the massage chairs are awesome!

3/8/25 My driver door handle broke and you could not open the door. Had to find a Toyota dealership to fix the door. After searching for a close dealership I decided on Universal Toyota service Department. Service Department was so nice. I brought the door from the parts department. Mr Carlos Martinez told me it would be fixed about 2 hours and it was on my 2020 Toyota Corolla LE. I wanted some Toyota water that is when I found out Universal Toyota did not have the Toyota Logo water bottles like another dealership. The bothered me a lot and I found Mr John Martinez and told him I had a complaint and would like to talk to the manager. So he took me to Mr Adam Soto. I told him and Mr John Martinez about how disappointed about no TOYOTA Logo water. Because you pay all the money the water means a lot to me. Mr Soto assured me he would get the Toyota Logo water for the Universal Toyota dealership. I was about to leave and he wondered why I was there. Mr John Martinez told him about my door. Mr Adam Soto asked was I ready for a new car. This shocked me I knew that credit issues may stop that. Mr Adam Soto put in the information in the computer and worked out the deal better than when I was blessed with my 2020 new car. Now I have a great warranty again. My car was paid off .Mr John Martinez took me on a test ride in the Toyota Corolla SE 2025. Can back did my paperwork and I had a Brand new Toyota Corolla SE 2025. Thanks to Mr Soto And John Martinez. They both are a blessing. The car is a blessing also. Universal Toyota dealership is the greatest made me feel like family. Bless them all. The Commercials are true they go out of their way make you feel special. Mr John Martinez is the nicest salesman he had all the answers to my questions. Bless you again Mr John Martinez.

Do not have your vehicle serviced here. I bought a new truck and had power boards, bed cover and leveling kit installed. Was told a day that turned into 5 days with no updates unless I called about them. Talked to service manager Patrick and he said he would get to the bottom of it . After 30 minutes call my salesman that was off and home with sick kid and he got me information. Called Patrick back up and he hadn't even looked into it. Now truck is back in for a windshield replacement dropped off Thursday and said it would be ready by Saturday. Was called in Friday everything on track and good to go. Now Saturday before 9:00 am I get a phone call from Patrick that it will be Monday or Tuesday before it is ready. I am not sure what to think about the service department there and afraid what is going to happen if I have to e to take the truck in for any repairs or anything since the maintenance plan was bought through them. Stay far far away unless you want continuous issues and lies

So I brought my car in to Jerry’s just to get checked out for a couple things like new windshield wipers, check my brakes, and check my transmission, and check my mirrors that move on their own against my settings. Now they had my car for a couple days, talked me into a new battery… okay fine. Most things are covered under my extended warranty purchase. But here’s the problem. My car left in worse shape than when I brought it in. The check engine light has come on twice now and won’t go off. The rear air conditioning no longer works and my mirrors are still moving on their own no matter what my settings are. They also overcharged me and still haven’t seen payment back for it. I have called multiple times only to be disconnected or get a voicemail. I sent a text which was not responded to until I sent a few more. Was told someone would be calling me about setting up a rental vehicle but still haven’t heard from anyone. Seeing as this company is the one who messed up my car you would think I’d be more of a top priority to fix their mistakes. I’ve got 4 kids and driving around in 100 degree weather with them baking in the backseat is not okay.

The Lexus of Austin Part and Service Team acted carelessly. They deny responsibility for the issue and shift blame to one another by behaving as if "it is not my problem." If there is a rating of -1 or 0, I would proceed with that. I purchased the Lexus Battery on 11/22. The battery was fully depleted on the middle road on 01/23/2025. I was fortunate that I didn't experience an accident while driving. I contacted the Parts and Service department to inquire if I could simply bring the receipt and battery to receive a replacement. The woman informed me that I have two options: 1. If I bring just the battery, I'll receive a new one at a 20% discount. 2. If I could take it to the Service for testing; if it turns out to be faulty, they will replace it and only charge 50% of the battery cost. I courteously inform her that I prefer option number two since the battery is still under warranty and the battery will be dead in the middle of the road. However, she suggested that I should tow over instead. Rather than towing the car, I swapped in my Toyota Sienna's battery. Although the battery wasn’t ideal since it wasn’t the correct type, it managed to get it to the dealer. After I described the circumstance, . the team was very supportive and requested that I should wait for him to consult with the advisor. After approximately half an hour, Mr. Jorge emerged and informed me that it would cost me just over 300 to get a new one. I calmly told him that I was instructed to bring the car here for the service team to examine the battery, and here is the receipt. After briefly look at the receipt, he suggested that I should discuss this matter with the part team since I purchased it from the counter. Even I know this is odd xxx I have discovered recently, Toyota, Honda, Lexus, and others mandated that the vehicle must undergo servicing for examination. It appears to me that Mr. Jorge did not receive training to understand the new process. I however grabbed his message and went to the counter. The cashier informed me that he could only provide a 20% discount even the battery sold on 11/2022, and I had to speak with the service advisor if I want 50%. I returned to Mr. Jorge and explained to him what the counter man had informed me. He approached the counter, and push the issue to each other like "this isn't my issue". At that moment, I was unable to accept what I heard and departed. I left and and purchased a new Duracell at Sam's Club for $154, and it will be fully covered for the first 3 years instead of the 2 years offered by Lexus. I believe the Part and Service Team did not meet my expectations. I had several Lexus vehicles and I was quite satisfied with their service until last week. You must adapt to serve more effectively. Otherwise, you only get a 1 from me.

Cameron, after hearing my situation, along with Mr Phillip the shop foreman, proceeded to isolate and fix my engine trouble. They got on the phone with our vehicle repair maintenance department for our company and got the repairs approved and my truck fixed by the very next day! I am able to go home on time, and in time for the Easter holiday thanks to the most excellent professional customer service that happened at Ken Stoepel Ford. This caliber of service has been rare for me to find traveling around. About 50% of dealerships no matter which brand, FAILS. This dealership is the exception. Thank you Cameron and Phillip.
