When the work was completed, Carlos asked if I had had my front and rear differentials serviced and that they were due. He told me that they found metal shavings in the front differential. He then told me that I needed to have my transmission serviced and the bands adjusted. I have a 5 speed standard transmission. He told me that to service the front and rear would cost about $250.00. I serviced the front differential today. There was a very fine coating of metal on the plug magnet. The rest of the case showed no metal. I feel that I avoided a rip off. I will not return to the dealership for any reason. They are not interested in providing honest service and be wary if they tell you you need additional services, they only want to "service" your wallet.

I told the salesman I was a cash buyer and was only interested in the one Silverado they had. (Its a dodge dealer)I told him how much I was able to spend and asked him if he could get this truck into that range. (no price listed on the truck and he wouldn't even tell me the asking price) He said yeah, I can get it in that range no problem. He said with a cash offer it would be no problem and then made annoying remarks such as "you're the king of utah." I test drove the truck and loved it. It was the work truck model with the 4.8L v8, rubber floors and nothing fancy. We sat down to go over numbers after he left us in his office for no joke 25 minutes. (my wife was pissed off at this point) He came back and made us an offer $6,000 above what we said we would pay. We called him on it and he left us alone for another 25 minutes and returned with an offer $500 less than the first one. He then proceeded to pull up nadaguides.com and show us what the truck is worth. He included the truck as an LT model with leather interior, a 5.3L moter and power accessories with less miles than the truck we were looking at and used this info as a basis for his offer. I pointed all these gross errors out but he made it clear that this didn't change the price any. I looked up these trucks on kbb.com and nadaguides.com and new what the truck was worth and my initial offer was higher than what these two sites state. Greg and this dealership jerked my wife and I around for 2 hours and we left. I have never been so mad in my life. I used to have a dealers license and I would buy and sell cars so I know the value of these things and how the system works.
By the way, the next day I bought a much nicer truck of the same year with the same miles and much better equipped (LS package) for $1,000 less than my initial offer with Greg at Ken Garff. I understand the barter system but holy crap, they were off by $7,000-$8,000!!!
