As someone who has worked in the automotive industry for over 20 years—across sales, service, body shop, and detail departments—I'm very familiar with how dealerships should operate. Unfortunately, my recent visit to Academy was the most disappointing experience I've had at any dealership to date. I scheduled an appointment to view a 2024 Dodge Hornet, but upon arrival, I was told by a salesperson named Korbin that no one by the name of "Autumn" (who had confirmed the appointment) worked there. He was also unaware of the appointment or the vehicle in question. After some confusion, I was informed that the vehicle had either been loaned out or was experiencing mechanical issues and awaiting a part—two very different explanations offered by different staff. Despite my clear interest in a specific vehicle, the General Manager began aggressively pushing alternative models, including hybrids, which I repeatedly stated I was not interested in. After declining multiple times, he finally backed off. He offered to work out a deal involving my trade-in and an employee discount I provided, but abruptly left to assist another customer and never returned. After a 20-minute wait, another manager stepped in to help finalize the numbers. When the offer was finally presented, Korbin became condescending, implying I didn’t understand the value of the added features (such as GPS and a car tracker). More concerning, he misrepresented the trade-in value by stating I would receive my full payoff—when in fact, I was being offered $3,700 less. After doing the math myself, I pointed this out. I attempted to thank him and shake his hand despite our clear disagreement, at which point he made a dismissive comment about the mileage on my vehicle ("It does have over 100k on it"). At that point, I decided to leave. Given this experience, I will not be purchasing from Academy, nor will I be recommending them to others. Charles Blake More

They are all about the sale, but they obviously don't want repeat customers. After we decided to buy the car we were told we had to purchase almost $2000 worth of add-ons. The Waypoint GPS was never pu want repeat customers. After we decided to buy the car we were told we had to purchase almost $2000 worth of add-ons. The Waypoint GPS was never put in our name to use. They keep telling us to wait 72 hours for an email from Waypoint and it has yet to come after owning the car for 33 days (792 hours). Waypoint says our VIN is in their system, but that it is still listed as part of the dealership fleet. The general manager told us that is was not transferred because we did not pay for it. He changed his story when we requested that he look up our invoice where it showed we paid for it in full. The vehicle has self-started and alarms go off almost every Saturday since we got the vehicle. We have reached out to the dealership many times and the salesman is clueless and tells us the manager is in a meeting and will call us back. They never call back! When we tried to reach out later in the day to see if they were out of their meeting, we were put on hold and then disconnected after a few minutes. The latest is that we finally spoke to the manager. He wanted us to bring him the car on Saturday and make it go off so they could see what the problem was. If I could make it do I would of already had it fixed. He was going to look into things and call us back in an hour. That was 24 hours ago. NO CALL! At this point I will take it to another dealership as it under warranty! I will never even consider buying another car from them and will advise anyone I know to avoid the dealership as well. More

Communication has sucked, numbers are all over the place and I’m simply at a loss for what’s REALLY going on. Went to a different dealer and traded in my wife’s jeep and got her a different vehicle (2025) and we couldn’t be happier with their service, kindness and continued follow ups. And…. The vehicle I got a month ago has issues and needs to go to the shop so gotta look into that now as well!!! Could keep going on about this but will just say I pray you have better dealings than I have. More
