Ms. Ann Kaplan at DCH Freehold Toyota was a joy to work with in my purchase of a 2022 Toyota Camry hybrid XLE. Bottomline: this new Jersey Toyota dealership beat out the competition - including Honda and S with in my purchase of a 2022 Toyota Camry hybrid XLE. Bottomline: this new Jersey Toyota dealership beat out the competition - including Honda and Subaru dealerships. I had begun my search for a midsized/mid-priced sedan using U.S. News, Consumer Reports.com (CR) and Truecar.com. And ultimately identified a sedan (including its vin#) at DCH Freehold Toyota. I first spoke with the Internet Sales Director, Mr. Tom Gordon, to check on pricing; and then met in person with Ann Kaplan to finalize the purchase price (Great Price according to CR) and the factory delivery date (within a week of the purchase). I found the dealership and Ann Kaplan to be welcoming, very knowledgeable about their vehicles, and willing to work with customers who had done their homework on the internet and were pretty certain about the vehicle they were interested in purchasing. The lack of professionalism and disrespect was appalling!! We have never experienced, nor have we ever heard of anyone experiencing, a staff using profanity towards a customer until our visit to appalling!! We have never experienced, nor have we ever heard of anyone experiencing, a staff using profanity towards a customer until our visit to DCH Freehold Toyota. After numerous phone calls with a manager (Brian) to make sure the car was worth a 6.5-hour drive, we asked if there was anything else we needed to know about the car that would be an issue; we were told no, so we arranged time off work to make the trip. The car itself was in great shape, however there were 4 different brands of tires on it, one of which (rear driver side) was dry rotted on the tread and sidewall! DCH Freehold Toyota states on their website that they "professionally inspect" all of their cars "using the highest quality control standards". Yet a car with a dry rotted tire was put on the lot. We brought the tire to a manager's (Matt) attention as a safety concern, stating that the tire would not make the drive home and asked for a replacement. The response was "That's xxxxxxxx". The manager also refused to look at the tire with us, stating the tread was measured as 10/32 upon mechanic's inspection. We stated the tread depth was not the issue, but rather the dry-rot, and were again told "That's xxxxxxxx" as he walked away. A saleswoman (Ann) proceeded to ask if we liked the car. We answered "Yes, but that tire is not safe and will not get us home". She then laid down a sales sheet, breaking down the cost of the car which was $3,000 above the listing price of $6,888! Listed on the sheet was an $800 "accessory fee" added to the listed price of the car because the dealership chose to add nitrogen filled tires and VIN etching to the windows. We did not ask for these features! The website also assures "no gimmicks, no surprises", yet did not advertise their true price of the car with the added accessory fee, along with an outrageous $799 dealer doc fee. After standing to leave, the manager was willing to drop the accessory fee, yet was not willing to put a new tire on the car OR take $100 off so we could purchase a new tire to make the drive home. The blatant disrespect, indifference for customer safety, and absence of professionalism resulted in the loss of an easy sale! No car is worth what we experienced. Spend your money elsewhere. More

I am a repeat customer of DCH Freehold Toyota and have always found the dealership to have what I need at a good price. Over the last few years I have leased four late model cars and have always been ple always found the dealership to have what I need at a good price. Came in to look to purchase a RAV4 and here are two complaints that Ann fails to disclosed there is a markup in price due to car shortage as I assume I know there is a markup. Also on DCH freehold website said there is a special 1.9% financing on RAV4 that she failed to let me know. She and her manager said there is no special from Toyota. Told me to get financing from my own bank. I was ready and able to buy this car right there. Ann is not a good salesperson that she has to interrupt me constantly with phone calls and not concentrate on my sale. She is not experienced salesperson that she has to pull her manager to speak to me that I don't want to speak to. I appreciate more if you take my objections and speak to the manager rather than having the manager come to me. You lost a good sale and commission. I went to another Toyota dealer and they treated me with respect and no xx. They offered me the 1.9% financing special. I will never do business with DHC Freehold. More
