I recently bought a Crosstrek Wilderness at Prestige Subaru and had a very good experience. I wasn’t at all happy about having to buy a car when I walked into the dealership and, although I had heard a Subaru and had a very good experience. I wasn’t at all happy about having to buy a car when I walked into the dealership and, although I had heard a lot of good things about Subarus in general, I had no real idea which car would be right for me. Sal Curi patiently helped me figure out which one would fit my needs best. There was no pressure and I never felt like he was trying to “sell” me a car. From the time I walked in the door to the time I drove away in my new car I felt like a valued customer and that all my interests were listened to and met. Antonio in management made me feel valued from day one and Andrew in finance made the whole purchase process painless. He was efficient and knowledgeable and worked hard to make this purchase affordable. But it was Sal I worked with most and he turned a stressful process for me into a comfortable one. No pressure, tons of patience and a real interest in me ending up with the right car for me. When my husband is ready to buy his next car he has already decided it will be from Sal at Prestige Subaru. He won’t even look anywhere else. That says everything. More

He then got Bill Abrams involved (service manager) who got the radio and within two weeks from the email it was installed. It works great! Special shout out to Mike in parts for contacting me to let me know the radio came in. Also shout out to Val my service writer for his kindness. More

My son and I purchased a used vehicle from a salesperson named Jason on January 13th, 2022. On January 17th, a few lights came on in the car, one being the check engine light. My son called Jason and Jason named Jason on January 13th, 2022. On January 17th, a few lights came on in the car, one being the check engine light. My son called Jason and Jason offered no help. He did not say to bring the car in nor did he offer to speak to the service department. My son took the vehicle to a local Subaru dealership because Prestige Subaru is nearly 2 hours away from our house. We found out the steering angle censor was bad. The car whines in 1st and 2nd gear and stutters @ 3000 RPM when accelerating. Also, after this another issue occurred where my son checked the oil because of a noise he was hearing, he ended up having to put 4 quarts of oil in the car. Clearly since there is no oil leak, the motor is burning lots of oil which is not a good sign. Finally, on the week of 2/21, my son heard a knocking sound and had to pull over on the highway and have the car towed to the nearest Subaru. There they advised us that it’s rod knock which basically means the car needs a new engine. At this point, my son had not even paid his first car payment. We called Subaru and spoke to Chris Carola (Used Car Sales Manager). He said to have the car towed there and he would see what he could do. During this phone call he said he would reimburse us for towing. He was already calling us liars about having to put 4 quarts of oil in the car because “every car gets an oil change before sold”. Two days later, the service guy Drew called us saying that it needs a new engine and they will not cover it because it was a few days over the 30 day warranty. I spoke to Chris again, and he blamed the issue on my son. I was getting very upset and he proceeded to say “Are you going to let me talk, or am I going to have to hang up on you”. I told him “put yourself in our shoes, we were sold a lemon” and instead of being sympathetic he said “put yourself in our shoes”. Chris is the epitome of the worst Car Sales Manager I’ve ever dealt with in my life. He basically called us liars and took no responsibility. After this conversation, Bill, the manager of the service department called me to explain the issues with the car. He said there was a tuner installed in the car and that once a tuner is installed there is no warranty. He said the tuner could have messed up the engine. I spoke to my personal mechanic and he said the dealership could have removed the tuner before they sold it and tuners typically do not cause major engine issues. Bill then said its after 30 day warranty anyway. So which one is it? Is there no warranty because it has a tuner or is it because its’ after the 30 day warranty? We purchased the car with the tuner in it. My son did not install a tuner nor did he do any modifications to the car, with the exception of tinting the windows. I spoke to another Sales Manager there, Antonio Guzman who said he will see what he can do but it’s been two days and I have not heard a peep. They were deceitful and hid the issues this car had in order to sell it and make money. Now my son has a $25K loan to pay off, with a car that can’t run. They told my son a new engine would be up to $10,000. For $35,000 my son could have had a brand new car. The car is still sitting at their shop with no resolution. If I were you, I would stay far away from this dealership and Chris Carola most of all. He has no compassion, no people skills, and no ethics. This has been the worst dealership experience I’ve ever had and this is why people hate going to dealerships and dealing with salespeople. I am a salesperson and I would NEVER treat a customer in this regard. More
