Stealership I have come across a strange situation with GM Corporation, Goodwill Assistant Program and Mr. Bo Trivett; the owner of Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac I have come across a strange situation with GM Corporation, Goodwill Assistant Program and Mr. Bo Trivett; the owner of Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac Dealership of Murfreesboro, TN. To make a long story short; GM left the decision to Mr. Bo Trivett to refund me $1632.42 for a design failure in GM timing chain on a 2012 GMC Terrain 2.4 liter engine. I brought the engine noise to the attention of that dealership in 2014 when the engine only had 25,000 miles and under warranty. I was told by their Service Adviser that engine noise was characteristic of that particular engine; so they didn’t check it out or document my complaint. In July 2017, the timing chain stretched to the point of skipping several teeth and cutting off and idling rough. I call the dealership to make an appointment to bring the car in and I was told over the phone that I needed a timing chain set. I asked, how do you know this and was told that engine has a design defect in the timing chain; it stretches and sometimes break. Here are my questions: 1. Could I have force that dealership to troubleshoot and document my complaint on my vehicle back in 2014 when the car was under warranty? 2. What good is a new car or extended warranty if a dealership refuses to work on a customer car under GM low compensation to a dealership? 3. What recourse do I have in a situation like this? More
