Service from Brian, who claims to be the owners son, and Sam is great until you sign the contract.
First, when me made the deposit we were told we would be making one total payment on the day of signing.. Then, upon signing the lease we were informed "oh, well yea, there is a second charge". We should of walked away then.
When you trade in a vehicle, they will offer a fantastic service in which they turn in your plates. Don't do it. They will promise a smooth service, but it is anything but. Plates were given to Legend 10 days ago with promises that they would be turned in. Not done, not given back and each time I had to call the dealer to find out where my verification of turning in the plates was.
The customer service from Sam is poor, will get loud and determine that cursing on the phone is the proper way to deal with a customer who is frustrated by the lack of customer service being received.
Upon leaving the lot after leasing the car, I was informed that we would get a $100 referral for everyone who bought from Legend. I don't see myself ever recommending someone to that dealership.

First I would like to say that we are sorry you feel this way. I personally witnessed the rude way that you spoke with our receptionist and I heard with my own ears the way you spoke over my Sales Manager and he most certainly did not curse at you. The additional charge was only for DMV which should not have been a surprise. We do not charge any dealer fees here only collect NYS fees. In addition, the plates you made mention of have been returned as promised we are just waiting on the reciept, which Sam offered to send over to your insurance company. He also offered to rectify any charges if there is an issue. We pride ourselves on good customer service and VW awarded us as an outstanding VW Dealer.

It's interesting you say you heard the way I spoke to the receptionist, as she told me no one was available at that time to help me since Sam was in the parking lot with another customer. When I asked for help from someone else she said no one was available. So someone must have been lying. I only grew frustrated with her when she refused to get anyone to help me. Also, I must then assume everyone who calls your dealership is on speakerphone of what you're saying is true.
Second, Sam most definitely did curse at me, as well as raised his voice. And yes, I did get upset as any customer would when they are being lied to by a company. Sam guaranteed not once, but twice that the reciept would be available, further saying he would personally deliver it to my home. Both times I needed to call the dealership to find out that you were unable to fulfill your guarantee. Therefor, why would I trust or believe him when he offered to fax it to the insurance company.
Finally, Brian told us it was the only charge we would pay at the dealership that day. If you are told it's the only charge, any reasonable customer would assume it is the only charge. If there were two charges it should be stated we will be making one payment now, then a second upon signing the contract.
Stop trying to push blame back on the consumer and just admit that you are trying to spin this to make it seem like your company fulfilled your promise.
