Can't trust anyone there The worst car purchase from a dealership I have ever experienced. It all started when I walked in the door to look at a used 2015 XTS. It took them The worst car purchase from a dealership I have ever experienced. It all started when I walked in the door to look at a used 2015 XTS. It took them 30 minutes just to find the car and found that the shop manager had it in his possession with his junk in the trunk. I took it for a test drive, and the sales lady had her hands all up in the steering wheel showing me "buttons" while I was driving (very distracting when I am not only trying to get a feel for the car, but paying attention to the snowy roads). Upon asking her what specific options for the car I was driving, she was unclear as to what option were in this car. I pondered for 24 hours about purchasing the vehicle. It had 28k miles on it and still a good factory warranty so I came back to negotiate. Well Negotiation was out of the question as they would not budge a dime on the price. They came back to me shortly after (trying to make me feel good) and stated "Hey, we found you an extra $250 with the title fees!". Well to me, Title fees are not part of the price of a vehicle, and it was their mistake in the title fees to begin with. So I settled with what was in front of me and moved on to financing. The finance guy was able to find me a loan per my request. However, after declining all extended warranty and insurance, I still saw "Gap" insurance in the Truth in Lending statement. I asked why it was there after I declined everything and the finance guy told me "it is required by the bank" (I called the bank afterwards and they stated that they DO NOT require Gap insurance for the loan I had). So I had to return to the dealership and request cancellation of the insurance. The GM pretty much tossed me an unfilled form for cancellation and the sales lady had no clue what needed to be filled out. All that was required by me was a signature. The GM did not ask any questions and pretty much walked away leaving us to figure out how to fill it out. While I was there to cancel the insurance, I found out the my license plates have been there for a couple days and no one told me about it (followed up with their excuses). Moving on to the car issues; when I brought the car home, there was a repetitive transmission clunk. I consulted with the shop I bought the car from, the first time they said "nothing wrong", the second time I took the shop manager for a ride a was able to replicate the issue. The shop manager had stated he was driving this car for a couple of weeks and did not notice the clunk in the transmission. Well I am not a professional mechanic, but am smart enough to identify an issue, and you could not miss the clunking that was occurring. A couple days later he called to tell me that "Cadillac" requires them to inspect the transmission (which required then to pull it out). So I arranged to drop it off. 2 weeks later, the loaner we had was giving us issue (brand new CTS) and we brought it back because we were concerned it was going to stall on us. Upon arrival, we still see our XTS sitting in the lot. We ask what's going on and they stated we reset the computer and found nothing wrong. We were also faced with rude service in the shop. After all of the back and forth, and misleading information, we decided to have another shop look at it. Since then, the other shop (a respectable dealership) has replaced 4 out of 6 transmission seals and pistons, replaced a cracked catalytic converter, driver seat warmer, and a few other items in the interior. We have been driving loaner cars more than the car we purchased since we bought it. So to sum it up, from day one to 6 weeks later dealing with Forest Lake Chevy, has been nothing but misleading information (or what I call "lies"). The only person I felt I could trust was the receptionist. Prior to the new management at Forest Lake Chevy, I purchased a vehicle from there and was totally satisfied with the transaction. Now, they have totally lost my trust with the new management and we (and my friends) will never return. More

Extremely Poor Customer Service Purchased a 2018 Chevy Silverado 3500 ltz. Noticed a vibration just before it shifts from 3rd to 4th and 4th to 5th almost immediately after I purchased it. I mentioned it to my wife the first weekend we had it and she remarked maybe it needs to wear in. As much as I doubted this being I was an auto tech 20 years ago before I switched professions I somewhat wanted to believe it just because I didn't want to have spend $60,000 dollars on a new vehicle that was broke or going to be problems. It wasn't to bad at first and if you got into the pedal just right it would shift with minimal notice. at 5000 miles it began to get worse so I brought it in. I first talked with the lady to schedule an appointment; I then called back and specifically asked about the appointment I set up. i asked if my truck was going to be worked on when I dropped it off or was it going to sit till they got to it. She reassured me, and even put me on hold, to ask the service adviser, upon returning to the phone she stated it would be worked on that day. I dropped it off at 7am Monday morning, 11/20/18 and didn't hear anything all day, I called the next day and it still wasn't in. I called the service manager and he assured me they would get it in and work on it. I was called back later that day and they said my truck was done. Kelly, the service manager, had test drove and everything was fine. I picked it up that night and after dealing with the front crash sensor warning system going off every time I slowed down; I started to hear a ping out of the exhaust as I drove thru the drive thru. I got out after the drive thru trying figuring out what was going on. That's when i discovered a piece of brush from their car wash was stuck in front of one of the sensors. That explained the warning ping that was going on inside but not the ping that I was hearing out of the exhaust. Also, the shuttering I was experiencing was much better but it was still there. The next morning i drove back to Forest Lake and wanted them to figure out want they did that caused the pinging. The service Adviser, Michael Tidd, tried to tell me....through his years of experience, that he "guaranteed it is metal expansion because it was cold outside". I told him that was xx and it was coming from inside the exhaust. He back pedaled a little and said they could fix it but he would need the truck for 2-3 days. I told him I could leave it but he said they couldn't look at it for a couple of weeks. So i was forced to drive it. I set another appointment up and dropped it off 2 weeks later 12/7/18 on a Monday morning, this time the service adviser was Austin Greenwood, Austin listened to my explanation and told me they would be looking at it right away and would call me later that day after they diagnosed it. They even drove it out of the service area back into, want I assume, was the garage area, while I was still standing there. I left pretty confident that they were going to get it repaired pretty quickly and I would get my truck back. I had told Austin I had an annual one a year ice fishing trip that upcoming weekend at Lake of the Woods and would need my truck back on Thursday so I could pack to leave Friday. He assured me that wouldn't be a problem. I never heard a word from him that Monday.... or Tuesday. I waited patiently not wanting to be a pain and allowing them to do their jobs. After not hearing anything all day Tuesday, I called again Wednesday morning. The lady in scheduling said Austin was busy with another customer but if I held on, she would ask about my truck. She got back on the phone to tell me the truck would be going into the garage within the hour and he (Austin) would call me within a couple of hours. ( So at this point, it's been 2 days and it hasn't even been look at.) Hang on...it gets better...Wednesday goes by, Thursday goes by...., and it this point, I had canceled my fishing trip, for other reasons, so I decide to just wait and see just how long it’s going to be before I heard anything....FRIDAY...3 PM...I get back into my office to a message that was left on the recorder at 2:48 from Kelly Hines, the service Manager, he tells me "I just got the paperwork that morning and I did get a chance to test drive it and couldn't recreate the issue and it must be intermittent so just keep the loaner truck you’re in for the week end and he would talk with me on Monday". I immediately called back and was transferred to a voice recording. I waited a half hour to hear from him and final called back. I didn't ask for Kelly till after I was transferred to a different adviser. That adviser handed the phone to Kelly. Kelly explained that he was covering for Austin because Austin was at a gaming convention....xxx?... and that he wasn't sure why my truck wasn't looked at all week. He said they could possibly look at it on Saturday because his diesel mechanic was in, but then back tracked on that because he wouldn't have time. At this point, I had had enough....I told him I would be picking up my truck and I did. I was, and still am, extremely disappointed, angry, upset, and bewildered as to how a company can allow such poor and disrespectful service to happen to its customers. I've worked hard my whole life, I'm 53, and have never been able to afford something like this, till now.. And in anticipation of a lifetime achievement, I get a xxxxxxxx experience because of a couple guys who sit at the front counter in the service department at Forest lake Chevrolet......What a deal...My only recourse is to waste some more time writing this letter in hopes to save someone else from going through all of this. I also get a little satisfaction, however small, every time someone ask me about my new truck....I love my truck, even after the repairs that are still needed, because I know that life is not perfect and things are going to break, or need to be adjusted, But that's no excuse for such outright poor behavior towards other people. When asked about my truck, I simple reply, I love my truck and I recommend Chevrolet.... but whatever you do...DO NOT BUY FROM FOREST LAKE CHEVROLET AND CADILLAC. Their service... after the sale...sucks!!!!! There are plenty of Chevy dealers out there....I would go try one of them.... More

Came to buy a used Denali XL What a disaster. My $40,000.00 used GMC Denali Yukon XL that I bought had no end of problems. When I drove it home to Redwood Falls the MALFUNCTION IN What a disaster. My $40,000.00 used GMC Denali Yukon XL that I bought had no end of problems. When I drove it home to Redwood Falls the MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP came on. The radiator had a hole in it. The front struts were leaking. The transmission cooler lines were leaking. The engine was backfiring. The engine air filter was very dirty. The wiper blades were old and torn. The salesman I bought the unit from told me to take it in to the local Gm dealer (Scott-Preusse) which I did. Now Forest Lake Chevrolet will not pay the invoice to have some of the problems fixed. The selling dealer put the Denali through there FRONT LINE USED VEHICLE INSPECTION system and these problems showed up but were not fixed--on a $40,000.00 vehicle!! One thing that I was happy that the dealer fixed before I picked up the truck, the engine was making a knocking sound and this was fixed under warranty. So far I have talked to Tamir, his brother Moustafa, Daniel, Garrett, Rob, Mark, Rock, Joe, Kelly, and dear old Mary (the pop corn queen). Over 3 weeks since my purchase and still waiting for something to happen positively. More
