I want to clarify that the information being said about our interactions is not accurate. Below, I have included the same details from the original email I sent in response to the customer’s complaint regarding the transmission fluid condition. Along with this, I have provided documentation from ProDemand outlining the proper procedures and manufacturer-published maintenance intervals. Since I am unable to upload documents directly here, I copied and pasted all relevant information from my original email. If another associate may have provided inaccurate information regarding the services or inspections performed prior to the customer’s purchase, I sincerely apologize for any confusion this may have caused. Please know that we are always willing to provide full documentation supporting any inspections or services performed. At no point did I withhold information or act dishonestly in my communication. My intent has always been to ensure transparency and accuracy in representing the work completed. Sincere regards, Michael  J. Sapanaro Parts and Service Director Rocky Mountain Auto Brokers W: (719)-477-9009 ext. 2001 E: mike@rmabinc.com 4912 Carrera Pt Colorado Springs CO 80923 United States SEE COPY OF EMAIL SENT TO THE CUSTOMER 11/07/25 Mike Sapanaro Kallie R I have looked through your request and concern. After looking into manufacturers’ recommendations and mileage you are currently at, it was not time for a service when we had in our possession. Also, we would not check the fluid condition for it is a closed transmission unit, we would only move forward with a thorough check if we had symptoms such as drivability, leaks or indicator lights. None of these was present for we would follow the manufactures guidelines and not open or service the system unless it was required based on mileage or mechanical failure. We do take care of all major repairs and or safety items before we sell a car. Maintenance like this is left to the owner's expense. I hope that all makes sense. Please see attached documents showing proper procedure to check your transmission fluid and manufactures maintenance intervals from Honda. I hope you have a great weekend! Sincere regards, Michael J. NOTE: Adjust the valves during services A, B, 1, 2, or 3 if they are noisy. Number Maintenance Sub Items 1 Rotate tires, and check tire inflation and condition - Follow the pattern shown in the Owner's Manual. 2 Replace air cleaner element (CLICK HERE) - If the vehicle is driven primarily in dusty conditions, replace every 15,000 miles. Replace dust and pollen filter (CLICK HERE) • Replace filter whenever airflow from the heating and air conditioning system is less than normal. • If the vehicle is driven mostly in urban areas that have high concentrations of soot in the air from industry and from diesel-powered vehicles, replace every 15,000 miles. Inspect drive belt (CLICK HERE) - Look for cracks and damage, then check the position of drive belt auto-tensioner indicator. 3 Replace A/T fluid (CLICK HERE) • For 9-speed A/T model: Driving in mountainous areas at very low vehicle speeds or trailer towing results in higher transmission temperatures. This requires transmission fluid changes more frequently than recommended by the Maintenance Minder. If the vehicle is regularly driven under these conditions, have the transmission fluid changed at 60,000 miles or after the first 3 years, then every 30,000 miles or 2 years. • 9-speed A/T model: Use genuine Honda Automatic Transmission Fluid (Type 3). NOTE: Using the wrong type of fluid will damage the transmission. • 10-speed A/T model: Use genuine Honda Automatic Transmission Fluid (Type 2). NOTE: Using the wrong type of fluid will damage the transmission. • Capacity - 9-speed A/T model: 3.3 L (3.5 US qt) - 10-speed A/T model Type A: 4.5 L (4.8 US qt) Type B: 4.3 L (4.5 US qt) NOTE: Refer to the ATF Replacement and Level Check (CLICK HERE) procedure to properly identify a Type A or B, 10-speed A/T. 4 Replace spark plugs (CLICK HERE) Replace timing belt and inspect water pump (CLICK HERE) - If the vehicle is regularly driven in very high temperatures above 110 °F, in very low temperatures under -20 °F, replace every 60,000 miles. Inspect valve clearance (cold) (CLICK HERE) • Intake: 0.20-0.24 mm (0.008-0.009 in) • Exhaust: 0.28-0.32 mm (0.011-0.012 in) 5 Replace engine coolant (CLICK HERE) • Use Honda Long Life Antifreeze/Coolant Type 2, and if necessary add Honda Extreme Cold Weather Antifreeze/Coolant Type 2 (concentrate) as needed for prolonged cold temperatures below -22 °F. • Capacity (including reservoir): 6.4 L (1.69 US gal) 7 Replace brake fluid (CLICK HERE) • Use Honda DOT 3 Brake Fluid. We recommend genuine Honda Brake Fluid. • Check brake fluid level is between upper and lower marks on reservoir. SEE INFORMATION BELOW PROVIDED TO THE CUSTOMER, PROCEDURE TO CHECK TRANSMSSION FLUID. ATF Level Check (9-Speed A/T) (2018 2019) Check NOTE: How to read the torque specifications . Keep all foreign particles out of the transmission. Be careful not to burn yourself. ATF Level - Check Courtesy of HONDA, U.S.A., INC. 1. Enter the VSA maintenance mode 2. Start the engine. 3. Shift the transmission to the S position/mode. 4. Using the paddle shifters, run the vehicle in 1st gear, 2nd gear, 3rd gear, and 4th gear, waiting 10 seconds after shifting in to each gear. After shifting into 4th gear, wait 10 seconds, allow the wheels to slow down and slowly press the brakes. NOTE: 1. Do not apply sudden or a strong brake pedal force when coming to a stop. 2. Do not shift beyond 4th gear or transmission damage may occur. 5. Shift the transmission to the P position/mode, then raise the engine speed to around 2, 000 rpm for couple seconds to ensure that the torque converter is full of ATF. 6. Run the engine at idle speed until the ATF Temperature on the HDS data list reaches between 99-113 deg.F (37- 45 deg.C). If the temperature exceeds 113 deg.F (45 deg.C), turn the engine off, allow the transmission to cool down and turn the engine back on. 7. With the engine running, remove the level check plug (A), and make sure the ATF level is at the conditions described below. NOTE: When the ATF temperature between 99-113 deg.F (37- 45 deg.C), the proper ATF level is about 6 mm (0.25 in) higher than the bottom of the level check plug hole. 8. If necessary, add Honda ATF TYPE 3 through the level check plug hole until the ATF overflows, then immediately install a new level check plug.
