We brought in our new Passport Honda Elite to the dealership to remove a scratch on a door and to fix the edge guard on all doors. They provided a civic loaner car where the service advisor was very thorough in expressing our responsibilities for the car. Even stating that if a tire blows out I'm responsible for it. We inspected the car for damages and took pictures. Half way to San Diego the tire pressure warning light came on in the car. We tried to find a gas station with a working pressure meter and were unable to find one. We went to a discount tire store where the young attendant with a proper meter diagnosed that all the tires were set at 40psi. I asked him what they should be set at and he said 32 or 33psi. Well, he fixed the problem. The warning light was fixed. We went back to the dealership to have a conversation with the service advisor. I told him what a coincidence that you stated if a tire blew out I'd be responsible and I explained how all the tires were inflated at 40 psi. I told him by the way you owe me $10.00 for correcting the tire pressure on the vehicle. The service advisor flew off the handle at the customer, me. He said in a loud voice go to my service manager which I did and explained how unprofessional his service advisor was. I explained to the service manager how disappointed I was about the whole situation and how was I suppose to have confidence in his dealership in the future. He tried to reassure me but I am not satisfied. That's why I have decided to write this letter. I thought Honda prided itself on safety. Lets assume one of the tires blew out on your loaner vehicle and me and wife were injured. The authorities would find out that the tires were over inflated and you Honda Corp would have a big lawsuit on your hand. Thank God that did not happen. However, in the future it would be better if you checked out your loaner cars and made sure they are safe prior to loaning them to customers. I hope you will refund my $10.00 dollars. Thank you. The detail job they did on my Honda Passport Elite was full of finger prints and smudges on the windows. If you would like pictures, I will provide them. I am also cancelling my maintenance service contract because of this incident. I've owned Hondas all my life and never have experienced such negative interactions with service advisors.
