I came in and took a test drive of a 2007 Mustang GT. I had planned to provide a $1500 down payment as I was going to finance the balance thru my credit union where I had been approved for a $20,000 car lo had planned to provide a $1500 down payment as I was going to finance the balance thru my credit union where I had been approved for a $20,000 car loan. Steve told me they don't accept down payments any more and suggested I finance through the dealership's Capital One finance co. During our negotiations, he took my license into the back to see about a lower price and was gone over 1 hour - while I was left waiting in the show room. At this point, I just wanted my license returned and to leave. I had to ask another salesman (there were many on the floor with nothing to do but pace back and forth) to go get him. Steve was pressuring me to purchase the car that night. I walked out pretty upset - he said I was "making too much of this". I wonder if he would have said that if the customer was a male. He sent me an email several days later offering to come down $1000. I replied saying I would move ahead with that offer and would go through my Credit Union (Vibe) to obtain financing. He never responded to the email (which I found out later went to some generic mailbox). I had to follow-up with a phone call. I came in and had been pre-approved by my Credit Union for $20,000. When Steve emailed the Purchase Contract to my Credit Union for review by their underwriting dept, they took over 2 hours to respond to me, even after I sent several messages trying to get a status. Steve and a finance guy (I forget his name) said if I financed through the dealership's lender Capital One, he could have me out of there in 5 minutes. I agreed. The last thing that was needed by Capital One was a copy of my Insurance binder which I had contacted my agent and she was going to email to Steve that day. Weeks later I got an email from Capital City saying they denied my loan. I couldn't believe it as I have an 800+ credit rating. When I followed up with them, they said the real issue was that they still needed the Insurance binder. I feel that Steve dropped the ball. I drove the car off your lot after only paying approx $6,000 cash/credit card. Upon leaving, Steve said "I'm not crawling under a rock, don't hesitate to call me for anything." I emailed him a couple days later to say I loved the car but was disappointed that the CD changer was jammed and didn't work. He never acknowledged me. More
