1962 Ford Galaxy 500 Starliner Red Convertible

Why This Car Is Special

Back in 1962, if you had a Rangoon Red 1962 Ford Galaxy Convertible with a white convertible top and a black and white interior you were a sight to behold! These convertibles attracted attention back then and they still do today.

The color combo this one has and really set it off and makes a great impression as well as having the 352 cubic inch engine.

Mechanical

Under the hood sits a factory correct X-code 352 cubic inch engine that shows the X that tells you it came with an 8-Cylinder 352 Cubic Inch (2-barrel) engine with a 1 code 3.00 to 1 axle and a 4 Code Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission.

The engine bay looks period correct with the belts, wires, and hoses and the whole restored compartment looks as new.

The air cleaner and valve covers look original to the car and painted in the correct Ford Blue as is the engine. Add to that some creature options such as the automatic transmission and the red painted wheels with black sidewall tires and it makes a sweet ride.

Interior

Ours has a restored black with white trim interior with the plush red front split bench seat and the matching rear seat, matching door panels, a beautiful black dash with factory correct gauges in the engine-turned dash, black factory steering wheel, black carpet, and the black Galaxie 500 floor mats.

Exterior

It has great visual appeal with the Correct Paint Code J Rangoon Red with the red and white side trim, dual front headlights, and the Galaxy 500 emblems telling you what this Galaxy is all about.

All the chrome is good as is the grille and the trim. The white convertible top looks as new and all the body lines look good.
