The dry climate of Spain preserved the chassis, which was completely stripped of every panel, nut and bolt. It was then restored with the highest quality parts, to standards much higher than Land Rover in the 1990s.A TATC Defender is not just a restomod, but a faithful and complete restoration with a newly remanufactured engine, transmission, and transfer box by Land Rover specialists in the UK. This Defender 90 proudly does NOT use an LT4, but a Land Rover 300Tdi (4cyl turbodiesel) rebuilt and enhanced by Turner Engineering, paired to a slick-shifting 5spd rebuilt by Ashcroft. This is a combination that was forbidden to US Defender enthusiasts until this vehicle turned 25 years old and became eligible to import exempt from DOT restrictions.
