Wide body 911s have historically enjoyed a popular following among enthusiasts, so after successful early renditions in 3.2 Carrera and 964 form, it was only a matter of time before the 993 enjoyed the same treatment from the factory. The result was the car you see here, the C4S being the first naturally aspirated 993 to receive the wide body treatment when it arrived for the 1996 model year.
This 1998 example is finished in radiant Arctic Silver over a Black interior. A total of 4 owners have cared for this example, with the odometer showing 49,969 Miles. CARFAX notes an accident in the cars early life during first ownership in 1998. Extensive repairs and great care have gone into the work performed to bing the vehicle back to its current, pristine condition. The car has been exceptionally maintained.Â
Chassis and suspension tweaks over its predecessors include the innovative Kinematic passive rear-steering system. Other changes included revised bodywork across the entire 993 chassis with aerodynamic bumpers and flared rear fenders being the most prominent changes.Â
One thing is certain, and not just for fans of sports cars from Zuffenhausen: the fourth generation of the 911 - the 993 - is one of the most desirable editions in the history of this classic vehicle.
