2006 Pontiac GTO Burnsville MN --- Final Year of Production, Extremely Low Mileage, Clean CARFAX, LS2 V8 400 Horsepower, 6-Speed Manual
The 2006 Pontiac GTO is the final model year of a three-year production run that ended not because of poor performance, but because new federal airbag safety standards made further production of the Australian-built platform too costly to justify. GM discontinued the GTO after 2006 --- making every surviving example, especially clean low-mileage ones, increasingly rare in the collector market. This one carries just 19,552 miles over 20 years --- a pace so conservative it averaged fewer than 1,000 miles annually during its first 13 years of ownership. Powered by the LS2 6.0-liter V8 --- the same engine that powered the C6 Corvette --- producing 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque, paired with the optional 6-speed Tremec T56 close-ratio manual transmission. It carries a clean CARFAX with no accidents reported. Available now at Walser Nissan Burnsville, serving Minneapolis, St. Paul, and communities south to Rochester and Mankato.
LS2 V8 Performance --- 400 Horsepower, 400 lb-ft Torque
The LS2 6.0-liter V8 in the 2006 GTO is the same engine GM put in the C6 Corvette --- a naturally aspirated, pushrod V8 producing 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque with a 0-60 time under 5 seconds. The 6-speed Tremec T56 close-ratio manual transmission is the enthusiast choice --- a proper driver's transmission with a tightly-drawn shift pattern and a limited-slip rear differential to put the power down cleanly. Four-wheel antilock disc brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and traction control are standard. Fully independent, performance-tuned suspension front and rear delivers a ride that belies the car's 3,700-pound curb weight.
A Stealth Muscle Car --- The GTO's Defining Character
The 2006 GTO was criticized in period reviews for its understated exterior --- smooth, European-influenced bodywork with hood scoops, a rear spoiler, and dual-dual exhaust outlets rather than the aggressive styling of its domestic competitors. In retrospect, that restraint is the car's greatest strength. The GTO drew no attention on the street, attracted no police, and provided its driver with 400 horsepower on demand without announcement. Collectors have come to appreciate exactly this --- a genuine American V8 performance car that asks nothing of you except to enjoy it.
Interior and Comfort
The GTO interior features power-adjustable leather bucket seats, a driver-focused instrument panel with a 200-mph speedometer, full-length center console, and four-spoke steering wheel with tilt and telescoping adjustment. The Blaupunkt 200-watt audio system includes AM/FM stereo with a six-disc CD changer and 10 speakers. Cruise control, remote keyless entry, power mirrors, and automatic headlights are standard.
Exterior
Gray exterior, 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, dual hood scoops, rear spoiler, fog lights, daytime running lights, and dual-dual exhaust outlets.
CARFAX History and Maintenance Highlights
This GTO carries a clean CARFAX with no accidents or damage reported. The first 14,189 miles were accumulated by a single owner in Virginia over 13 years --- a conservative, collector-pace ownership that speaks directly to how this car was kept. Twelve service history records document consistent maintenance including oil and filter changes, safety inspections, and routine checks. Pre-sale service through the Walser network included a full pre-delivery inspection, oil and filter change, wiper blade replacement, and interior cleaning and full detail.
