The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti was first introduced to the US market in the 2005 model year. The Scaglietti name attached to the 2+2 sports car was attributed to Ferrari 1950s coachbuilder Carrozzeria Scaglietti. Introduced for the 2005 model year, the Pininfarina design of the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti was inspired by a custom-bodied 1954 375 MM. The 612 Scaglietti was the first twelve-cylinder Ferrari production vehicle to feature an all-aluminum chassis. The 612 Scaglietti is 5.5 inches longer than the 456 model it replaced but thanks to its aluminum chassis weighs a couple of hundred pounds less. There is considerably more room in the cabin making the 612 a bona fide true 4-seater.
