Driving a Terrain says you settled the question of what actually matters in a daily vehicle a long time ago, and the answer was never flash. This particular SLE-2 comes with automatic climate control, steering wheel audio controls, and OnStar Directions and Connection already built in, so the cabin is ready to work from the moment you sit down. Picture yourself three exits from home, temperature already dialed in, one hand on the wheel and the other on the volume knob, not thinking about the drive at all because there is nothing to think about. The four-wheel independent suspension and speed-sensing steering give this Terrain a composed, planted feel through intersections and on-ramps that a lot of compact crossovers in this class never quite nail, which is the kind of thing you only notice when it is absent elsewhere. The traction control and four-wheel disc brakes with ABS are there in the background every day, doing the quiet work that keeps a commuter confident on wet pavement or in traffic that stops without warning. This is a crossover that asks nothing dramatic of the person driving it, and that is exactly the point.
