2013 Honda CR-V

I just learned that CR-V stands for ''Comfortable Runabout Vehicle'' so unlike most car names that are just meaningless acronyms, Honda nailed this car's name. Well, at least that's the urban legend about the name. It definitely fits. Most of the time when you find a one owner car, it means the car is in noticeably better condition than similar vehicles with multiple owners, even if that noticeably-ness is only barely or marginally better . . . but this car was loved. I didn't even have to check the CarFax to guess that this was a one owner car with a robust service history record. It drives butter smooth, looks like afresh lease return, and does not feel like it has 111k miles on it. Now granted, due to the model year, it also doesn't have a lot of the fancy baubles and doodads that newer models have, although that can be a point in its favor. Less luxury means fewer problems. And still, the luxury it has feels great! For the driver there's a lovely leather, heated, power seat that feels broken in for you without feeling like someone else's seat. The moonroof works, and there's some sweet little design features completely devoid of modern technology like under-the-cup-holders storage space for both the driver and the passenger. In more technical terms, the engine is a peppy and efficient 2.4L 4 cylinder, the powertrain is FWD, with an automatic transmission. It gets about 31mpg on the highway and 23mpg in the city while still generating 185hp. For a fuel efficient, spacious cargo, low cost maintenance vehicle, you can't really do better! Normally I like to call Hondas and other Japanese makes ''budget options'' because ''cheap'' or ''bargain'' feels like the quality is lower when it really isn't, but for this car even ''budget'' feels too demeaning for it.
