Both rugged and practical, the 2025 Nissan Frontier is a mid-size pickup truck that can be outfitted, like others of its ilk, for several different missions. All models get the same 310-hp V-6 engine and a nine-speed automatic; rear-wheel drive is the standard setup. The Frontier offers much of what buyers in this class want, including a wider mix of cabs and bed sizes than some rivals can provide. Nissan has given the Frontier a light styling refresh for 2025 that includes a revised grille and front bumper. Other changes this year include a larger optional 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with newly standard wireless Android Auto, a standard tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, two-way power lumbar adjustments for the driver's seat on SV, PRO, and SL trims, and an increased maximum towing capacity. Nissan has also made more driver-assistance tech standard, including lane-departure warning, automatic high-beam headlamps, and adaptive cruise control. The Frontier is powered by a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter V-6 with 310 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque. It pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission and rear- or four-wheel drive. Our driving impressions revealed that the Frontier's V-6 provides adequate thrust and smooth operation. We also appreciated the Nissan's new quicker and more direct steering and the other chassis enhancements that have helped the truck feel more composed and refined on the go. The cabin is dressed in snazzy-looking trim pieces, soft-touch surfaces, and contemporary features. The gauge cluster includes both analog gauges and a 7.0-inch color display. Speaking of seats, the Frontier features Nissan's supple Zero Gravity thrones which have proven to be all-day comfortable and perfect for road trips. Interior cubby storage includes a bin on top of the dashboard and a place to store items under the back seat. The Frontier's infotainment system operates through a standard 8.0-inch or optional 12.3-inch touchscreen. A pair of physical knobs for adjusting the stereo's volume and tuning settings are present and located below the screen. The most desirable standard connectivity features include wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and several charging outlets, including a USB-C port.
