I came to the dealership that day, a Sunday, interested in seeing how a Honda Odyssey would meet our needs as a daily driver and occasional camping vehicle. Having researched online the many ways folks raved about this vehicle for those purposes, I was eager to see for myself. The specific ability to easily remove/"hide" 2nd and 3rd row seats were what we were looking for to make a flat, spacious camping platform (which could also be upgraded with a connecting rear hatch tent accessory). Upon arriving at Hall Honda and explaining that interest to Jay, his guidance/explanation of the functions of the 2021 Odyssey Touring model available on the lot more than "checked all the boxes" for us. With every new thing Jay pointed out, the smiles on our faces grew bigger. Jay has the perfect combination of friendly personality matched with an amazing, in-depth knowledge of the vehicle he was showing us. Literally any question we could think of asking he knew the answer to, and could relate it to how that function benefits us. Jay and the dealership were kind enough to let us test drive the vehicle to our home approx 20 miles away to see if it would fit in our 8 ft wide garage doors, as we were determined to buy a vehicle that would fit in there. As was the case with homes built in the 1980's, 8 foot garage doors were pretty much standard in this area. With some much needed clearing out of the garage, the Odyssey does in fact fit, so one more reason to feel good about the possibility of buying it. As for my trade in, a few days prior to my Hall Honda experience, I had CarMax do a purchasing quote. Hall Honda matched that quote as trade in value, which saved us the issue of having to deal with 2 businesses. We did not finance the vehicle, but the sales "paperwork" was handled by Tyler in that department. Another great guy who shared Jay's friendliness, expertise, and efficiency. Literally everything was done in one Sunday afternoon, from showing up at opening time with a mild curiosity, to owning it and driving away that afternoon. That time period was action-packed, including the hands-on inspection of the vehicle, a some-what lengthy test drive on my part, the pre-sale detailing of the vehicle, and the "signing on the dotted line" part. We could not be happier, and our experience could not have been better. Jay Edghill is the major reason for our happiness.
