I want to warn others about the dishonest service practices at Paramount Kia of Hickory, which I experienced firsthand on October 28, 2025. I brought my Kia K4 GT Turbo in for an oil change and tire practices at Paramount Kia of Hickory, which I experienced firsthand on October 28, 2025. I brought my Kia K4 GT Turbo in for an oil change and tire rotation, drawn in by their advertised $39.99 special. However, my visit quickly turned into a classic bait-and-switch. Upon completion of the service, I was presented with a final bill of $118—significantly higher than the advertised price and even the initial estimate of $81. The dealership had added several undisclosed fees, including an illegitimate "$1.50 document storage fee" and a "$7.79 shop supplies" fee. Most concerning was the hidden $29.95 labor fee for the oil change that was not included in the original advertised price or clearly detailed in the estimate. While I was able to get some of the other inflated charges adjusted, the dealership still forced me to pay for the "document storage" and "shop supplies" fees. The entire process was deliberately misleading. They use a low, advertised price to get you in the door, only to inflate the final bill with uncommunicated and questionable charges. It's a dishonest way of doing business that shows a blatant disregard for customer trust. My intention with this review is to inform others so they can protect themselves. Be prepared to scrutinize every line of your bill if you use this service department and challenge any charges that weren't clearly communicated upfront. More
