Car Buying We were greeted, friendly staff, offered drinks and popcorn. However, I did not see the SUV that I purchased until after everything was signed. I came down to set it up and then they said I didn’t need to because the deal was pretty much done. They took $1000 out of my checking account AFTER the deal was done. I paid cash for my down payment. My wife has cancer and I was buying the car to surprise her for Mother’s Day. I contacted Kia and told them I needed my money back in my account ASAP! Because I had Mother’s Day coming up in and my sin’s Birthday as well. They told me it will be in my account in 3 days. I said that’s not acceptable because I didn’t authorize anyone to take the money and my son’s birthday was in two days. They didn’t do any. 3 days went by and they told me 3 more days. Then again that went by and they said 3 more days. I ended up calling the General Manager and Johnnie Williams called me and said they will take care of me. I told him I needed to be compensated for this mistake “outside of just getting my money back” because it just wasn’t right and I didn’t have any money for my son’s birthday and also on Mother’s Day. I was very frustrated. Johnnie kept saying he’s working something out. Then after a few days he told me “let’s just wait for the money to be deposited first and then we will take care if you”. I thought that was not right because why do we have to wait in order to talk about how I will be compensated. I finally called and texted him once the money was deposited over two weeks later and he has not returned my texts or calls since! So they held me off until the money was returned then went back on their word to compensate me. Meanwhile I wasn’t able to accommodate my sick wife on Mother’s Day nor my son for his 12th birthday. Plus I continued to get lied to the whole time. More
Dishonest and blatantly disregard the law Beware when buying, per Georgia law dealer fees ("administrative fees,” “document fees,” “processing fees,” “dealer fees,” “customer service fees,” et Beware when buying, per Georgia law dealer fees ("administrative fees,” “document fees,” “processing fees,” “dealer fees,” “customer service fees,” etc.) must be included in the advertised price. What the dealer can legally do is charge $9,500 for the car and $500 for the document fees (which would then equal the total advertised price $10,000). Vehicle price was advertised on dealer website and other vehicle listing websites. Upon trying to purchase the vehicle they added what they called a DOC FEE of $699.00 and a TRANSFER TAX of $243.00 to the price. Attached is a written quote. In speaking with Rufus, identified as the General Sales Manager, I offered to pay the advertised price and any applicable government taxes/charges. I went on to inform him of Gerogia law that any dealer fees must be included in the advertised price. I was put on hold for several minutes before he came back on the line to inform me "the price is the price". If I wanted either vehicle I would need to pay the DOC FEE and TRANSFER TAX. I continued on to inform him that Georgia law clearly states all dealer fees must be included in the advertised price. I restated my interest in the trucks and my offer to buy at the advertised price but was only met with hostility. The conversation ended with him informing me that Georgia was a right to sell state and he would not sell me either truck without including the DOC FEE and TRANSFER TAX. In an attempt to dig out of their hole, I received an email after our phone conversation stating the registration, title and tag fee were incorrectly called a TRANSFER TAX. More
