Ready to walk away at the first sign that the salesman was being sleazy or trying to cheat me. Ready to spend a week of evenings after work comparison shopping. Benjamin Proctor walked up to me in the parking lot and from that moment on, the experience went beautifully. He was straight forward. Honest. No pressure. Knew the details about the car. All the details about the options, the model, the performance. No BS. He didn't over-sell. I got more car than I ever thought I would, at a price much lower than I expected to pay, even after all the research about dealer cost, invoice price, MSRP, holdbacks, incentives, databases of past sales in the area. I know I got a really good deal, got a better car than I thought I would, and walked away relaxed, satisfied and really happy. I expected to get a car. I never expected to enjoy buying it. More

I visited the dealership around 4:30 pm for a test drive of a 2010 Toyota Prius, and drove out of there at 9:45 pm in my brand new Prius! Working with Eric and Hamid was great! Toyota for a second opinion after another Toyota dealer gave me a suspicious diagnosis, though got vehicle out of 4WD, charged much money for said diagnosis and what sounded like minimal work to effect that return to 2WD status ($315.00), and after the diagnosis, had escalated the repair price $1,000 over "worst case" estimate previously given me by Asst Service Manager at my request when I took the vehicle in...wanted approx $2,800 to repair an actuator; strongly recommended I drive vehicle no further until "fixed." Alexandria Toyota's Sonnhalter (service advisor) worked me into hectic pre-holiday schedule...I had no appointment, got service manager, shop foreman and techs involved in evaluation; decided 4WD system (on our 99 Toyota Forerunner) was operating OK, sensor fine, and no need for repair at this time though problem could, as with almost any part, recur. Sonnhalter fully explained the findings, recommendations; was courteous, efficient, and knowledgable. I was not charged for diagnostic time. Sterian (team leader) took much time to go over 4WD procedure (road test) with my wife who was concerned she might have caused original problem with improper procedure. He was also exceptionally polite, helpful, and informative. Both employees typify service (quality service at reasonable cost) at Alexandria Toyota which I have experienced over 5 years. (Only reason I went initially to another dealer was nature of 4WD problem, fear of damaging transmission if we drove more, and proximity to that dealer to place problem occurred). More

We have closer Toyota dealers to where we live, but we chose to come to Alexandria Toyota first and it was quite clear to us immediately why this dealership has just great reviews. First off, we arrived late in the evening, and took a test drive of the vehicle we were interested in one half hour before closing time. By the time we were finished the test drive, it was getting late but they did not try to rush us through at all. We decided to buy the truck, and, unlike at many other dealerships, these people were very pleasant to deal throughout the entire process. They did not try to play games by selling us equipment we did not want, excessive options or warranties we did not need, and gave us a very fair price for the truck. Even after we were all finished, the staff at Alexandria Toyota stayed well beyond closing time to thoroughly answer all of our questions. My wife and I could not have been happier with our car buying experience at Alexandria Toyota, and would recommend this dealership to anyone both inside the Beltway or beyond.
