Our experience with Shiloh was very good. Shiloh is an asset to the company. He said that he got a little mixed up on the year of our trade-in, but the original value that was mentioned to us was more in asset to the company. He was rather rude during negotiations and I nearly walked out. Then after the sale, I discovered another deception. He had told me that he would give me $1000 for our trade-in, and that if we traded in our vehicle our monthly cost would be in the 3-teens, and if we did not trade in our vehicle, it would be in the 330s. He wouldn't even give us a distinct figure, but we knew we wanted a Forester and Anchor is by far the closest dealer to where we live. He walked away from us (extremely rude) and said "trade-in or no trade-in?" as he was out of sight. I was so miffed by that point, I said "trade-in" just to be done with it. Then we found that our payment would be $318 (high teens... why couldn't he have said that to begin with?). After going home, I had made up my mind that there was no way I was just going to let our vehicle ($3000 trade-in value) go for $1000, so when we returned to pick up the car the next night I told them I wasn't doing the trade-in. Since they already made up the paperwork, they asked me to just give them the $1000 that they allowed for the trade-in. I said fine. Then I went home and did the math. If I spread that $1000 out over the 36 months, my monthly payment came out to $345, not something in the $330s, so in reality he was only allowing around $700 or so for our trade-in, not even the $1000 he rudely offered us. If i had realized that beforehand, I would have said, "The manager said that without the trade-in, the payment will be in the $330s. Please make up another sale agreement. We'll wait". Bottom line... I was too nice, the manager was too rude, we lost, he won, lesson learned. Now next summer, I may need to return to get another Forester for me... ugh! I better have my calculator with me! Then again, there won't be a trade-in to worry about at that time. One more thing... the dealership prided itself on telling me how well they treat their return customers, but the manager didn't even know that I currently have a 2002 Forester that I bought from them. But then again, shouldn't they treat ALL of their customers well... return or first time? More
