I was trying to buy 2014 GMC ACADIA and they wanted me to pay $14,000 on financing the truck plus 12,000 down in cash for $290 a month. I went to another dealer for same truck and finance for only $9,000 for $200 a month. I'm driving now. More

After talking back and forth and being told what I wanted was their cost which is absolutely xx, I decided to see if I did trade in my vehicle would that help with the price. I was then told vebratim "Well you told me earlier you didn't have a trade in, I feel like you aren't being truthful." What the xxxx? This was the most ridiculous and rude thing I've ever been told at a dealership. I continued like I was going to come back and purchase and told the salesmen I would be back tomorrow. After I left I sent the general manager an email about the horrible comment and told him because of the rude comment I would not be purchasing the vehicle. I really wanted the car too so I will have to find it elsewhere. More

this dealer is a liar and very rude I made an appointment with a sale lady (Natalie Skalka) 3 hours before I arrived to test drive the car. She confirmed that the car was still available and offered me a pricing. I drove 35 miles to their place. When I was there, I talked with a saleman and showed him that I had an appointment to test drive that car. He told me that the car was already sold. However, it was still available on their website. Then I told him I would like to talk with Mrs Natalie. I heard they call her name but he told me that she was not there. then they let me talked to another lady (i forgot her name). She was rude. She told me that that was not there fault to not let me know that the car was sold to another people. I said that her dealer ship had to let me know that information so I would not drive long distance there for nothing. then she said that if I paid 2000$ extra, they would sell it to me instead of the other one. They just want to xxxxxxxx you. do not come to this dealer ship. They are all liars. Very bad day for me. More

I did some research online and saw that this dealership had a nice inventory of seemingly well priced vehicles with the features I was looking for. We decided to make the 2-1/2 hour drive on Interstate 80 from our home to this dealership to check out these vehicles. I called the dealership to let them know we were coming. My car ran perfectly on the trip to the dealership. When we arrived we were greeted by the salesman and told the first item of business was to appraise my car. He introduced us to the person who would take it for a test drive and I cheerfully handed over the keys. About 5 minutes later the person returned to tell me that my vehicle had no "power" and they were going to put it up on the rack to check out any problems. I told them it had performed perfectly on the busy interstate highway during our trip to the dealership, and I was not concerned that they would find any problems. I take good care of my car and had just had it at my local dealership for servicing the week before. In addition it had been appraised by two other dealers that week when I had looked at vehicles at my local dealerships and they offered me book price on it as a trade-in. Our salesman then took us for a test drive in one of the vehicles I was interested in.. When we returned to the office, I was told that the engine on my car was "blown" and that it was not drivable. I was completely shocked and of course very upset as now we were so far from home and with no way to get back home. Could it be possible that my car would suddenly develop such serious mechanical problems immediately upon arriving at the dealership when there had been no hint of any problems during the drive there? I ended up purchasing one of their vehicles and taking a huge hit on the value of my car. Was I saved from being stranded on the side of a busy highway, or was I scammed? Unfortunately I will never know for sure. My advice: avoid this dealership! If you do chance doing business with them, do not let them take your car for evaluation without you with them. I am a 71 year old lady but apparently not too old to learn yet another lesson. More

A Letter of Thanks in Review General Manager Bret Pechtold and Sales & Leasing Consultant Bob Simon are epic. Flat-out, hands down epic, beating other dealerships – including our personal go-to favorite CarMax by several thousand dollars (between the averages in miles, condition and cost, along with much appreciated professionalism and congeniality). That needed to be said, first. We turned to Arnie Bauer in search for a replacement of our 2013 GMC Terrain, as very recently our trusty GMC was totaled after being t-boned by a Toyota Verso. (Thankfully no fatalities.) An unfortunate accident only made worse by having our identity stolen just days before, leaving us in a serious financial bind… With less than 72 hours on the clock from the insurance company, we had simple aims to find a vehicle equipollent to the one we’d lost. On top of the accident, recovery, living with disability, and all that follows . . . It was much easier said than done. (Especially considering we researched 6 straight weeks before confidently picking our first and late GMC Terrain - needless to say, we’d loved that one.) And now, with thanks to Arnie Bauer & all the staff we had the pleasure of dealing with, I can say - with confidence - we were able to put a good end to a very trying week with an equally, if not better, 2013 GMC Terrain. Arnie Bauer Buick GMC Cadillac in Matteson had the best result of all comparable options to select, by a variety of dealerships and locations, saving us from the prospect of trekking out of state - pressed for time - and on limited means. To our complete and utter gratitude and astonishment, Bret Pechtold & Bob Simon went above and beyond in old-school style “neighborly” complement, of enabling us to drive our replacement while the papers were still in the works. (Our State Farm settlement check had not yet cleared and the insurance company sponsored rental -our only means of transportation- was to be up before all was said and done…) As it was, we found our “Atlantis Blue” (a fitting name for the color, given a xxxx nigh mythical sale: made just under the wire, not only by our deadline but also the dealership’s) sitting front and center on the showroom floor. Knowing it was the best of all our options, we were further encouraged to find both dealership and salespersons equally interested making a fair transaction as well as serving earnest buyers in a tough market. And really, that’s the most anyone can ask for- all we could have asked for, considering Bret Pechtold decently knocked $100.00 off our bill, and Bob Simon okayed a $200.00 down payment instead of the preferred $300-$500 once again, making this process possible where it would otherwise not have been. Another huge help in a string of actions that facilitated a timely replacement, empowering us to get back into the swing of things, and our lives, in a time of need. As my wife said, “It was perfect . . .” And it really was. In the 37 years since my first automobile purchase - a collective 69 years and 20 automobiles between us - we can safely say, (my wife and I,) that it has been without a doubt the best automobile sale we’ve ever signed the paperwork on. Even without taking into account just having experienced firsthand the worst automobile collision of my life, thus far. Once again, Big Thanks and High Recommendations to Arnie Bauer Buick GMC Cadillac in Matteson & all the staff we had the pleasure of dealing with in our transaction. Sincerely, Mike, Jean & Arden (aka. The Cadillac-Engine-Happy Arnie Bauer Buyers) More
